One of my least favorite things about the movie was she didn’t speak for most of it. The live action version helped because she found ways to understand her. This cuts the middle man (no voice) while still involving Ursula

It feels kind of weird rating and reviewing this book. It was so short it's hard to say anything much about it. But I had a lovely time reading this. I think Lim perfectly captured the spirit and the characterisations of the disney's (animated) little mermaid, and I liked the way the story was played with to explore this "what if" idea. It couldn't really go into much detail for how short it is - I read it all completely in one sitting - but it was good for what it was and what it was trying to do.
