Eeek, listening to this story was really stressful for me, even though I figured it would turn out ok. But the last chapter, the POTUS speech, was just too much. 🤮

Too preachy, too agenda led

Saw this as an available audiobook at my library and what Bill Clinton helped write it!? Anyways it was entertaining although some of the technical virus stuff bothered me...

I've felt that James Patterson books have been, um, not as good the last few years but this one is a winner. I finished it in less than 48 hours, staying up til 3am because I couldn't put it down. I'd love to be able to read it all over again and not know what is going to happen.

I didn't however, love the president's speech at the end. It felt less like a book and more like listening to what the current political climate SHOULD be saying and isn't. But the shout out to military personnel in the epilogue was spot on.

*If you have the chance to listen to the audiobook instead of the written book, I'd highly recommend! Read by 5 narrators including Dennis Quaid & January LaVoy.

Interesting plot, but I had 3 main problems with it:
1.
I picked up this book because the plot sounded interesting, but then I was disappointed that he didn't actually go missing. The country thought he was missing but he was with trusted officials.

2. I listened to the audiobook and in the chapters that had classical musical, the music volume needed to be lower to properly hear the narrators.
3. The final chapter and epilogue and were slightly preachy.

Suspenseful & intriguing.

I had low expectations for this book before I started reading. The plot turned out to be quite enjoyable and captivating, albeit some elements of the story and actions of the president are not very realistic. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed reading a collaboration between Clinton and Patterson.

I did not appreciate how Clinton used the beginning of the book to criticize the socio-political divide in the United States. It really didn't fit into the narrative and felt out of place, regardless, definitely worth a read if you are interested.

Eh, it's fine. You could hear Bill Clinton's voice in 3-4 policy/political philosophy sections, which was interesting, but otherwise it was a not particularly thrilling thriller. The president is never actually missing. I couldn't stop laughing when they were coming up with ideas of how to crack the password: never was it more clear that this was written by two old men.

I read this mixed media; Dennis Quaid narrated the audiobook, and although Dennis is a great actor, narrating an audiobook doesn't win him any awards.
