Seriously ... how does Lisa Suzanne keep doing this??? Creating characters who I just fall in love with more than the last couple. Like once I say "ohhh I have a new favorite Suzanne book boyfriend," she pulls a fast one and introduces a new one. So, I think I need to stop saying it. But I do think Spencer is my favorite Nash brother (if you've read my previous reviews, you know I said the same thing) so far. And I'm serious. He just wants to be put first for once when it comes to relationships and Grace, well—she wants everything at once. So, how exactly will it work out? You'll just have to get the book to find out. But I will tell you that I loved how their story was told from the start to the end.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE REST OF THE SERIES!!!

Wedding the Wide Receiver is the second book in the Nash Brothers series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Spencer and Grace had a drunken marriage of convenience, but they both had real feelings for each other.

This was so cute and full of drama, as most Lisa Suzanne books tend to be. I mean, sister’s ex-fiancé? That was obviously going to get messy, and it did, but mostly because her sister, Amelia, was a POS. Seriously, I hated her.

I liked how Spencer and Grace were both determined to help each other get what they wanted out of their “fake” marriage, and they were so supportive of each other.

I enjoyed this, and I can’t wait for the next book.

Audio:
Narrators: Kelsey Navarro Foster and Tor Thom
Narration Style: Dual

Both narrators did a great job as their respective characters. But I didn’t really like Kelsey’s “male” voice nor did I enjoy Tor’s “female” voice. It just wasn’t very believable.

Note: It also kind of took me out of the story when the POV switched, and the characters said their whole name (e.g. Spencer Nash or Grace Newman). There also wasn’t much football (if any) in this story.

please note that the trigger warnings and topes/themes may contain spoilers
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: HEA
POV: dual 1st person POV
spice: a few open-door spicy scenes
TWs: allergic reaction (nonfatal), cheating, death of a parent (recounted), divorce, gold diggers
Kinky Content: bondage, dirty talk, “eyes on me”, fingering, gag- covering mouth, irrumatio, manhandling, nipple play, oral, outdoor sex, strip tease
standalone: book 2 in The Nash Brothers series
final thoughts: LET’S GO SPENCER “my wife” NASH!!!
When a revenge pact, turns marriage of convenience, turns “omg did we get drunk and get married in Vegas last night?!” ends up being the best thing that ever happened to Gracie and Spencer, tensions rise, angst turns way up, and the connection is undeniable.
Gracie and Spencer’s relationship was so beautiful to watch unfold. Two people who have lost all reason to trust find happiness in the person they least expect after Spencer’s engagement to Gracie’s sister falls through and Gracie swoops in to take her place.
Hijinks and banter ensue for these friends realize they just may be soul mates in book 2 of the Nash Brothers series!

Standalone in the Nash Brothers series

Off all the Nash brothers I was most excited for Spencer's story. I love quiet and reserved MMCs, but unfortunately I was disappointed. I loved the story until I didn't.

Grace has been tormented her whole life by her sister (Amelia). Grace is used to taking the high road, even when Amelia took the guy meant for Grace, but when Grace is at risk of losing the family vineyard, she decides to fight back.

Spencer is the calm, quiet, & reserved Nash brother. He likes his routines and plans for every aspect of his life. But getting drunk and marrying his ex's sister definitely wasn't in the plan.

I honestly loved this story until about the 60% mark. It was hilarious, the slow burn, family dynamic of the Nashs, the support Grace & Spencer had for was top notch. I loved that both Grace & Spencer actually had feelings for each other since the first time they met, but didn't act upon their feelings until they were both able to do so. But after their love confessions things went down hill.

I found it weird that even though they both were interested, they couldn't realize it the first time they met and Spencer just ended up with the sister that seemed "more interested"

In other books Spencer was the smart & logical brother, but in this book he just seemed whiny. The paparazzis, the locker room jokes were things that he should have been able to get over if he really wanted to be with Grace. I understand he was feeling vulnerable due to his parents divorce, but he used any excuse possible to end his relationship with Grace. Especially him feeling like he came in second to the vineyard for Grace.

The part I hated the most of this story was Grace having to "give up" the vineyard for Spencer. Sometimes relationships have to take the back burner in order to prosper in other aspects. I think trying to win a 4 generation vineyard business warrants putting your relationship second for a year. Especially when the husband himself is busy with football for the next 3 years.

Spencer's retirement plan was to retire and work on the vineyard along side his wife (first Amelie, now Grace). If Grace puts Spencer first and loses the vineyard, then were does that leave Grace, who's worked her whole life at this vineyard & put her heart and soul into it? Or Spencer after retirement? Yes, everything worked out in the end, but I found putting Grace in this position completely unnecessary and unfair.

I'm a person that believes sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, so I didn't think Grace did anything wrong when she finally started fighting back at her sister. Yes, it was snooping down to Amelia's level, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

I am very excited for Asher's book! It's the wildest of the Nash brothers and I know his story is going to be a good one!

After reading Wedding the Wide Receiver, I can say the Nash Brothers are my favorite Lisa Suzanne series. Grayson Nash was already a favorite, but now I've met Spencer Nash and am in love (again!).

I didn't expect the silent and nerdy brother to be so swoony. He plays football professionally but loves the business side of things and builds Legos in his spare time. He also knows about wine and its pairing with food, and don't get me started on that mouth. It's always the quiet ones.

It makes perfect sense for him to be with Grace Newman. She is passionate about her family vineyard and takes the high road regarding her oldest sister's antics. She is also loyal, level-headed, and the nicest person. So, kudos to Grace for flying to Vegas to tell Spencer about her out-of-character plan and for being honest.

The book is hilarious from the start, and the mix of tropes is perfect: sports, sister's ex, marriage of convenience, she is mine, Vegas wedding. Wedding the Wide Receiver might be Lisa Suzanne's best book to date. I'm expecting big things for Asher's story because this series is the best.

Merried sister ex in Vegas in his brother and further sister in laws wedding attire. Can they mak it work? I laughed,  I was frustrated with the treatment for the FMC from some side casts.

I absolutely devoured Grace and Spencer’s story because it was fun with great banter with a lot of heart. Grace is such a wonderful person and after spending years of being treated horribly by her older sister, Grace knows it’s best to stay as far away from her as possible which is impossible now that she has set her sights on ruining everything for Grace. Spencer was such a sweetheart as well and I hated that he truly just met the wrong sister and spent so much time being with someone so mean at the heart and manipulative. It’s clear from the beginning that him and Grace belong to each other but with so much that stacks against them it seems impossible until push comes to shove. I loved their story and the fun banter, but I do wish Grace’s sister would have gotten more of karma that she deserved or at the very least Spencer could have slapped a few harassment/slander/etc. lawsuits on her to get her to stop, but it all played out how it was meant to be. At times I would be frustrated with grace since she just wouldn’t see how much the competitiveness with her sister was setting her back and affecting her relationship and I wanted to shake some sense into her. I also wonder how her grandmother and father could allow her sister to be so vindictive when it was happening right in front of their faces and wish they put her in her place, but I feel through all this that the characters grew when they realized what was truly important.

“Okay, yes. It was a wild, crazy plan that I never thought he’d really agree to. He did, and we’re married…but we did it in someone else’s wedding attire. In our defense, I’m not sure we knew what we were doing.”
