I think it was really good! I don’t think it’s as good as All the Bright Places, which is unfair for me to judge this work based on that. There were some really tender moments that I loved. There was this back and forth of confidence and doubt, which is so on point for being a teenager and that was able to create this not stereotypical happy ending. I think it was so relatable and I could have used a book like this in high school.
The only thing I wish we got to explore was Jack’s family. He’s half of the protagonist and towards the end of the book this life is exploded and we don’t really get to see the reaction and moment from his brothers, especially Dusty who stole the show in this book.

This is one of those books where I would enjoy myself each time I was reading it but every time I put it down, I had no desire to pick it back up again.
I started losing interest around 60-ish% but page 250 lost me completely.
"But all I hear is I just want to be near you, Libby Strout. I want to kiss your lips right off your face.

But what I hear is I will always be protective of you. I will always look after you and our daughter, the one we’re going to have together after we get married and I am loving you forever.
I’m in the same car, only fifteen years in the future—somewhere far away from Amos. I bet you’ll be a wonderful father."
I realised I wasn’t invested in the potential of this couple enough for that kind of melodrama or instalove, and I no longer had any interest in the rest of their stories.
I skimmed a little further forward but was just met with more of a character refusing to communicate with anyone for no real reason about the problems he was facing, and I can’t stand that either, so that was it for me.

Este libro permaneció POR AÑOS en mi estantería sin tocarlo. Lo compré sin haber leído la sinopsis antes por lo tanto no sabia de lo que se trataba. Es un romance juvenil de preparatoria, en donde nuestros protagonistas, Libby y Jack han tenido que sufrir con grandes situaciones en su corta vida.
Jack por su lado ha tenido que vivir toda su vida escondiendo su enfermedad prosopagnosia, que le impide reconocer los rostros de las personas incluso de sus seres queridos, y Libby con su problema de obesidad y de cargar con el título de haber sido la chica más gorda del país.
Es una historia liviana que pese a que trata temas de salud delicados se lee muy rápido. Es dual pov y sus capítulos son cortos y faciles de seguir. Si bien hay romance creo que el libro no se centra en ello, pues es más importante la lucha los protagonistas con sus problemas y de cómo ambos se ayudan de alguna forma a enfrentarlos y a visibilizarlos. La historia es bonita y tiene un potente mensaje, pero más alla de eso me faltó poder conectar con los protagonistas. Me hicieron sonreír un par de veces pero creo que esa fue la única emoción que sentí a pesar de saber lo mucho que sufrieron. Ambos tenian mucho potencial para desarrollarse pero su evolución fue muy plana y me quedé con esa sensación de que le faltó algo.

The characters of this book are so beautiful and explosive that I could envision them in my mind at all times. I loved Libby's fearlessness and Jack's bravery. They make me want to be the best version of myself. I also really enjoyed Dusty's appearances and his words of wisdom. Basically, this whole book was a great big reminder that life is beautiful.
