Those who say that the book aims to evoke emotions are right. And it succeeds.
As much as I didn't expect it, I ended up enjoying it, and that says a lot, because we're talking about a TikTok phenomenon book, which, as we know, isn't the best quality. Interesting and likeable characters that you like the ones you should and hate the ones who deserve it.
The book functions more as an introduction to the world of the series, as there were several scenes where nothing happened and the personalities simply explained to the protagonist what was happening, but she didn't jump back into the action so that you didn't feel like she was getting a big belly. Hence the four stars instead of five.
It kind of spoiled me at the end. And not because of the trials, the trials were perfect, it was spoiled a bit by Feyr calling Tamlin "my supreme lord" and every time I read it, I felt like I was going to dry up, as well as the last chapter gave me the impression that it was written in a hurry, at least compared to the others.
Otherwise, I can't wait to see how the characters and the series will develop and I will continue with the next one.
