Great!

Love it. Can't wait to read more. Honestly, I would love to see this as a movie. I got so immersed in the characters that I would find myself wishing to be there.

This was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t have high expectations for this one but I throughly enjoyed listening to this complex story today. I don’t know if I like Rick or Logan yet but I’m definitely going to continue this series and see what happens.

3.5 stars. Interesting premise and characters that have promise, but a bit scattered.

There are some books that have a great idea but a very sloppy execution, sometimes the writing is so bad that you can't get through it regardless of how intrigued you are.
This book has the opposite issue. the writing is great, engaging. The premise however got so ridiculous half way into the book that I couldn't finish it, not even for the writing.
Another review highlighted that with a cover where the main character is standing with a sword, you expect some serious badass. however what you get in a character named Grateful is someone who believes that because she resembles Barbie she is destined to have bad relationships, and a lot of feeling sorry for herself. that is just the beginning of what is wrong with her in my opinion.

So I'm a bit surprised at the poor reviews as I think this was a great book. Yes it's personal taste but it maybe because I have read the whole series and Grateful grows from a spoilt needy girl into a brave steady woman. All isn't as it seems. Trust me give book two a chance and then just come tell me on here if you hate it.

I really quite enjoyed this book. That's despite it being told in the first person present tense, which I generally hate and involving both a love triangle and insta-lust, which usually drive me crazy. The book somehow managed to overcome all of its handicaps and provide an enjoyable read. And it did it with surprising ease.

The magic irritation-nullifying ingredient? Humour. The Ghost and the Graveyard is funny. Yes, yes it's hot and steamy too, but that wouldn't have been enough to overcome my dislike for the parts that make up its whole. I needed Grateful's quick wit and sarcastic internal monologue for that. She's a great heroine. She manages to stay strong and sure of her own sense of self in the face of some fairly severe identity shake-ups. She might have gone weak at the knees in the face of Rick and his awesome sex appeal, but she was never weak-willed. I respected that.

Rick was a surprisingly complex hero. He was simultaneously strong and fragile, loyal and of a little untrustworthy. I'm sure (in my own imaginings) that there will be a lot more to him and his backstory in the future books. I liked Lucas too. He was like a lost puppy, but I was a little tired of his whinging by the end of the book.

I was a bit disappointed that the book didn't quite wrap up by the end. Don't get me wrong it ended OK, but only one small part of the larger whole was solved. There were a lot of loose threads about. I'm always left wanting when that is the case. It's a shame the next book isn't out yet.

I didn't love this book. I love paranormal romance but this book was just lacking something. It was ok for a free book but it was a little predictable. I just didn't feel connected to the characters.

I could not put this book down! It kept me intrigued from beginning to end and was a quick, cute read.

How can you not feel for Grateful Knight? We have all been there, deep in love, willing to do anything for our significant other and then BAM they break your heart and leave you wondering "what the hell". After her ex used her, took her money and left, Grateful begins to pick up the pieces and move on. Accepting a bit of help from her dad, she moves into a house that he acquired, and that is just the start of a whole new world for her.

Rick, the Adonis-like caretaker of the graveyard next door, immediately elicites a powerful response from Grateful the very first time she sees him. Immediately she begins having intense, life-like sexual fantasies about him, and shortly thereafter he shows up at her door. The relationship between these two is intense for lack of a better word, but there still seems something very off about it.

Logan, the ghost in the attic, is the quieter, neighbor next door type. Their connection, though not as sexually intense (he is a ghost, though attractive nevertheless) is still deep and meaningful and on a different level. Personally I am cheering for Logan!

Grateful learns that there is more to her than meets the eye and the world is not quite so black and white. The sex scenes, while numerous and well written are a bit much for my taste but didn't impact my overall view of the book. It was definitely a one morning read for me and I am looking forward to checking out the sequel!
