he just got so sexist and horrible to her. when she overdosed after being roofied and he responseded by taking her son, i knew i was out
Did I read the same book as everyone else, because Cam is no book boyfriend, he's the book ex-boyfriend. Manipulating, entitled, selfish, disrespectful, the list goes on. First chapter had promise, but that's it.
Toxic masculinity and plot turns so sharp you get whiplash. Entertaining but like a soap opera.

This is the worst man I’ve ever read about in my life. Everything he does infuriates me. Oh my god. I didn’t like any part of this book but I was so determined to finish it. Unlike Ashley when something wrongs me over and over again, I leave it.
"She’s the one, alright. I knew it five years ago. I know it more than ever now."
Initially, I was going to rate this book as a three star read but what happened in the last 10% made me change my opinion. Cameron was such a meat headed bastard. I hated it when he just threatened to take Owen from Ashley as if she hadn't raised him all alone since the past five years. To be honest, I did not really like both the main characters. While Cameron was immature and controlling, Ashley was a stupid doormat pushover who always made bad decisions. I felt bad for her when the custody issue came in but there was no denying that her actions made Cameron reach to the conclusion. Both of them were just unlikeable to me but somehow I couldn't put this book down because the first half was really entertaining and funny but when the secret came out, that's where the book went downhill. By the epilogue, I couldn't bring myself to care about all the characters. I just wanted to finish the book. I picked this book up because sometimes I enjoy reading secret baby books, sue me lol but this book has no character development whatsoever and the grovelling is also lackluster
