My first thought that comes to the forefront of my brain when I think about trying to explain this book is that it was just incredibly toxic. The book started out playful, fun and full of sexual tension. We meet Ashley and Cameron who just had a random, lust filled night in Vegas and vowed to meet each other in New York the following weekend. As it turns out, he loses his phone and they never meet. Flash forward five years, Ashley has a child and a failed engagement. She moves across the country to intern with a hot shot doctor that turns out to be her stranger from the Vegas night. Meanwhile, she also picks up a well-paying side gig at an exclusive strip club. As time goes on, he pursues her, they fall in love, and wha-BAM she drops the bombshell that she has not only a kid but... plot twist.... HIS kid. It literally came out of nowhere. They fight, there's a somewhat custody battle, he is controlling, she says she'll never forgive him, she forgives him after like a day and then they're perfectly happy again living happily ever after.... What?

This book had me until about halfway through. Cam was just absolutely aggressive, controlling and moronic and how Ashley forgave him for what he did is beyond me. I also thought there was going to be a female empowerment arc for her because of the whole exclusive strip club, "embrace your power" plot line but it just fizzled out and categorized anyone that works in adult entertainment a sl*t.

Now, I'm all for a good plot twist but the fact that Owen was Cam's kid was so out of left field for me that I just didn't believe that our main character knew about it all along and it only came up when it blew up in the book. I feel like the author didn't put it in there prior because we knew it would make her actions unlikable and the story would have dissolved.

Overall, this book lost me at halfway and I felt that everything just settled and fizzled out. I don't really recommend this book. The spice factor was good in the beginning and then it just felt forced towards the end. I felt like everything in this book ended up being so problematic including the characters that all became unlikable. Even Owen became unlikable to me - you know there's a problem if I end up not liking a five year old in a book. It had fantastic potential so it makes me sad that it turned out this way for me.

The banters in the first few chapters kept me going but I ended up skimming because I can’t stand both MCs. I honestly can’t stand Cameron’s brother as well. God, this book gave me a major headache

TL Sean always writes the most amazing men! The plot twist is so on point and my heart broke and was put together in 24 hrs. The only thing is that I think it had too many tropes

Cameron and Ashley meet and have a fantastic night together but don't exchange names. Five years later Ashley moves from NYC to LA for an internship right after med school. The doctor she is interning under just happens to be the guy she met five years ago. They still have the chemistry even five years later. There are some secrets that hidden but when they come out cause a problem with them rekindling their romance.

Dr. Cameron Stanton & Ashley - They had a one night stand and then go separate ways with no means of finding each other, didn't know each others names, no numbers, nothing. She finds out she is pregnant and keeps the child. Four years later, they meet again randomly. He is a doctor and she is the medical intern who has a second job as a stripper at night. He finds out about the son and is furious about not being told.

Holy moly this book

Soooo much fun!!! 4.5
