OVERVIEW: Ashley visits Las Vegas and ends up meeting a guy that leads to a one-night stand. Fast forward a few years later, Ashley meets up with her one-night stand and things dramatically change.
RATING: 12/10
SPICE: 4/5
MY THOUGHTS: Strong lead by Ashley, there were so many instances where I was so mad at the way that Cameron would act and I was begging him to shape up to look beyond the emotions and try harder with Ashley. So so good!

Really enjoyed this second chance romance. What a crazy set of circumstances that brought them together and then back together!!! I was sooooo heartbroken at the climax of the story since I am a mother of a 4 year old little boy. I was super struggling but so happy with the HEA of this one. What an adventure this took me on!
Every once in awhile, I like to read an especially trashy romance novel. Which is exactly what this is. It’s about Ashley & Cameron. They meet in Vegas and have an instant connection that leads to a one night stand. However, Cameron soon loses his phone and her number. They meet again, 5 years later, when Ashley is interning for Cameron- who is Doctor Stanton, renowned cardiologist. Ashley is now a single mother but hides that from Cameron as sparks fly between the two.

I’ve been waiting to read this book for quite a while. I couldn’t wait to see how Cams story played out and oh was it so worth the wait! Cam Stanton is sexy personified and he knows it. He’s intelligent, cultured and knows his way around a woman’s body better than most. So when he spontaneously meets a woman who matches not only wits with him but blows his mind in bed he’s immediately taken with her. Through an unfortunate series of events he loses contact with her and for 5 yrs she’s the girl that got away. When fate brings her back into his life as one of his interns he can not believe his luck. He pursues her with singleminded focus, falling deeper and deeper in love with her every day.
Ashley never thought she would see Cam again. After the best night of her life she’s done nothing but think of him for the last 5 yrs. When she takes an internship on the other side of the country she never thought it would be with him. Now that she has him back in her life she doesn’t want to let him go. But she’s hiding a secret that will inevitably change everything between them.
I loved this book so much I can’t even put it into words. It was such a good read. Witty, charming, sexy and so painfully endearing. This had some of the best banter I’ve read in a while and the spice was definitely giving what it was supposed to. I love how these two characters came together. And without giving away anything how their shared goals almost ripped them apart. It was interesting to see how you can want the exact same things and still be on opposite sides of the spectrum. This whole series was so good but Dr.Stanton is a major stand out. 4 Stars and I can’t wait for more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

great!!!
Loved the book but I struggled getting over some grammar. I know the author is Australian but some of the characters are American and it was hard for me to get over slang differences. She’s a great author tho! Just personal biases.

Cameron was my favorite character from the whole Stanton series, so I was excited to read his story. I loved the premise of this book and think it was a great story line. However, I don't love the way the author carried the story out.
Cameron and Ashley were great together from the start. The chemistry was immediate and lightning in a bottle. Even when they find each other again...it's still there. But, when the big secret is revealed, Cameron becomes a totally different person. I totally understand the shock he would be in and the immediate reaction he had, but I don't feel he would have treated Ashley the way it was portrayed in this book. He was down right mean and very harsh.
I think the author intentionally created conflict and misunderstandings to create more drama in the book, but I don't think that was really necessary. The story of him finding out what had transpired over the last few years and how he personally works through that would have been a great story. I don't think we needed to go where the story goes...even if he is a really controlling guy.
All in all, I enjoyed the book, but I can't give it 5 stars, as I'm not sure I would reread it. I just don't like how he treated her at some points in the book. And, although I like how the book ended, it felt rushed to me. As a mother myself, I'm not sure I could move on from what happened as quickly as Ashley did...no matter how much I loved someone.

3.5 stars. The beginning was love at first sight for me ( or should I say, love at first chapter) and definitely 5 stars material but then the book went downhill... Cameron was such a douche canoe, I couldn’t stand him around the middle end of the book and I’m so sad because he was such an amazing man at first.. ugh
