Eh
Kind of disappointed in the female character. She has very little backbone. And he just came off as a pretentious jerk.

This started off SO good! And then... And then it turned into a total soap opera. Skipped to the HEA because Cam turned into an asshole and she lost her damn mind. Wtf.
T.L. Swan has gotten me out of my reading funk with her books. I was introduced to this author 1 week ago and I have already devoured 4 of her books (The Stopover, Our Way, Mr. Masters and Dr. Stanton). The stories and characters were all very original and they hit all the right spots. Steam was on point for all of the stories.
2.5-3 stars - rounded up because I’m feeling generous!
I loved the beginning and end of this book but the middle REALLY pissed me off! Good God all of the characters annoyed me; not just h and H but even the side characters like H’s brother. H was a domineering asshole that did things that were frankly unforgivable and h was a doormat who forgave him. They both continuously made dumb and immature decisions.
Aside from that, the biggest flaw in this book, in my opinion, was the writing. One of my pet peeves is that I hate it when an author overuses a word or phrase. T.L. Swan LOVES the word “smirk”. I was tempted to turn it into a drinking game - every time I read the word “smirk” I would drink - but she used it with such utter abandon that I would have died of alcohol poisoning after the third chapter! “Smirk” is used ONE HUDRED AND EIGHTY time! It was honestly ludicrous! I’m buying T.L. a thesaurus and sending it to her for Christmas. Everyone was constantly smirking, even in situations where it wasn’t appropriate. H and h would be having a soft, romantic moment and one, or sometimes both of them, would “smirk”. A smirk

1.5 stars
1 star for the first few chapters and 0.5 star for the smut scenes bc that’s basically all that was good about this book.
this book had so much potential. the first 2-3 chapters were great and had me with the chemistry, characters, and plot. and then from there everything was just complete shit. i almost dnf’d at the 70-80% mark bc holy fuck it was a mess. ashley was an absolute moron and was so fucking annoying with her decisions and cameron was just a fucking dick that wanted to piss all over her. i can’t understand how a book could have so much potential to be great in the beginning and then have the worst execution throughout the book and turn out to be utter shit. such a disappointment.
