What the hell was this book? It started off well, and don't get me wrong I really love this author's work, HOWEVER, this book was a mess.
First, the two main characters we're absolutely infuriating. I can't understand why anyone whos read this book thinks his actions/attitude is okay. He was downright abusive and I'm not sure why she didn't run for the hills considering he is a walking red flag. Preying on the vulnerabilities of a young single mom, no less. He was extremely emotionally abusive, financial abuse found its way in the story somehow too. I just couldn't understand why she was so in love with him despite what he put her through. Girl, have some self-respect. Don't get me started on her, her actions made her seem like the textbook definition of a "dumb blonde". She was supposedly a bright and intelligent young woman, but where? I was dumbfounded, throughout the whole book.
Secondly, The strange switch between UK English and US English was confusing.
Lastly, none of the side characters had any depth. What a mess of a book.
