I finally finished it. I took my time and savored this book. Schwab has a way with words and she entwines them into pure magic. 

A lot of fantasy books I read never let anyone go. Characters set off on adventures, get mortally wounded, and miraculously recover. This isn’t that book. Not in the slightest, and it’s almost a breath of fresh air.

Good but expected a better ending

Ending felt rushed and I felt that she left it open for further books with unanswered questions. Still an interesting series.

Schwab brings this trilogy to a rip roaring satisfying conclusion. Kell, Lila and Alucard acquit themselves admirably. I'm not the greatest reader of fantasy, but I'll read more Schwab. Well done!

A wonderful conclusion to an epic trilogy.  I found the characters continued to develop and grow, and I found I was left feeling deeply for so many of them (even ones I never thought I would).  I felt the ending was a satisfying conclusion, even though I could read more of these characters stories. This is one novel that will leave me feeling homesick for this world and characters!
