Good but expected a better ending

Ending felt rushed and I felt that she left it open for further books with unanswered questions. Still an interesting series.

Schwab brings this trilogy to a rip roaring satisfying conclusion. Kell, Lila and Alucard acquit themselves admirably. I'm not the greatest reader of fantasy, but I'll read more Schwab. Well done!

A wonderful conclusion to an epic trilogy.  I found the characters continued to develop and grow, and I found I was left feeling deeply for so many of them (even ones I never thought I would).  I felt the ending was a satisfying conclusion, even though I could read more of these characters stories. This is one novel that will leave me feeling homesick for this world and characters!

I think it has been nearly a decade since I have been so affected by a single author's works. Victoria Schwab's writing fulfills every need and craving that a voracious reader a fantasy would have. While this is suppose to be a review for the last book in the chronicle of three, I would argue that this is more of a review for all of her writings.

Schwab has the innate ability to spin worlds of light and dark, to conjure and destroy, and all the while creating characters that both surprise and engage, but also maintain the flaws of humanity that make it impossible for us as readers not to find them appealing. Her characters are not simply good or bad or even just treacherous, but have the wishes and wants beyond the single dimension of paper. They need to feel and be loved, and contain the same desire to be seen and heard that consumes all of us.

The best part, Schwab's mind is as creative as my nightmares. From Vicious to The Archives, I find myself continuing to fall in love with her characters - each violently fresh and different from any that came before. Thank you Victoria for sharing your writing with us. It is one of life's pleasures to be your reader.
