Otro libro que leo después de una película que me ha gustado bastante. En estos casos el libro suele gustarme aún más que la película, a ver si hay suerte.

Ya lo he terminado, me ha gustado bastante. La historia es muy buena, y el dilema moral que presenta muy interesante.

I have wanted to read The Reader for a long time, ever since Kate Winslet earned an Oscar for best actress and I heard about the story for the first time. I finally watched the film a couple of years ago and I have been looking for the book at thrift stores ever since. About a year ago I found another book by Bernhard Schlink, The Weekend, and I just couldn't get into it - quite frankly, I just couldn't understand it. I never understood first hand the importance of the translator. Carol Brown Janeway did a phenomenal job. I was lucky enough to happen upon The Reader a few weeks ago at my local Goodwill and it really was so engrossing. I wish I had read it before knowing the twist, but even then it was wonderful. A fantastic book about a hard to understand time period in Germany.
