I had pretty much the same issues with this book than I had with the first one - homophobia (internal and external) was the main problem of the book.

A closetet hockey player and a country singer get outed against their will.
They hooked up before and their PR teams decided it would be a great marketing strategy to have them fake date.
There were so many opportunities for them to get closer and actually get together. But it took basically the whole book.
It didn’t really feel like they became friends either. They talked on their fake dates, but it was all very artificial.
Also I missed the pining for each other.

Seamus felt so sorry for himself, it was annoying.
I’m also very disappointed that his drinking didn’t get acknowledged as it should be. The MC in the first book at least went to therapy in the end.

The only thing I felt for Brody was anger. His boyfriend of four years dumped him just before the book starts, because he was so deep in the closet he wouldn’t even have him accompany him to a wedding. I’m actually quite happy for the ex, that he could start his life without the douche.

When they finally really get together, the book basically ends. And even though I didn’t like most of the book and I was really bored, I found myself disappointed.
I want my MC’s to be together for a bit at least and not just like the epilogue to see that they are together now.
