This book is okay, but, to my disappointment, fails to fulfill my expectations after reading the first of the series. The characters didn't develop much. Haven managed to annoy me a couple of times. The Solis were completely useless, and their friendship shallow—although it was later recalled as warm (show, don't tell, please?) And the seer's visions just gave away most of the surprises. Too bad.

There was however some interesting development in the end, so yeah, I'll definitely continue with the series.

This installment of the Kingdom of Runes series was good. It was a little predictable at parts and seemed to repeat itself at times. I liked the character building that went on and that we as readers had multiple POV’s. This meant every emotion was more raw and more potent. I did see some similarities to “A Court of Thorns and Roses” and have predictions made for the next books. Overall, I enjoyed this book.

Dear fanfic writers
It really saddens me that this series doesn't have any fanfic

Curse Breaker is the second installment in the Kingdom of Runes series. There's just something about these books (so far) that makes them very easy to fly through. Even though I wanted answers to my previous questions, I feel like I just got even more questions than answers. Maybe I'll get some in the next book?

Haven and her powers are very intriguing. Don't even get me started on her dreams or anything else because I could go on and on. The only thing I wanted to happen was for her secret to come out. Like tell someone girl because it's frustrating to see her keep it all inside. I'm not sure if something is going to happen and the secret will eventually come out.. but I will patiently wait for it all to go down.

Other than that, I was pretty iffy with the romance in the beginning but then it got better. Well, a little bit because I'm getting triangle love vibes and I'm not a huge fan of those. Then there's Bell, and I was so freaking worried about him for most of this book. I'm still digging the beauty and the beast vibes but I'm just wanting a bit more.

In the end, I wasn't expecting a certain death because it just kind of felt random to me. Not sure what is going to happen next but I'm super excited for adventure!

This book got me in my feels and I wasn't expecting that at all! This series just keeps getting better and I would say that this book is even better than the 1st.

This book picks up right where Oath Taker left off, Haven is trying to get Bell back. Stolas is still one of my favorite characters, I do find myself starting to warm up to Archeron as well. Archeron isn't as much of a jerk, the sass between Haven and Archeron is still there and I am here for it! We start to see a relationship develop between Haven and Archeron but then Stolas is worming his way in a sense between them. I will add I am not a big fan of love triangles but I feel like this one is done well because at this point it isn't really a triangle yet. I loved seeing Bell and "The Creature" together and see their interactions.

The plot is great and fast paced. We see Haven learning how to use her magic and the danger she keeps getting into because she wants to take care of things herself. While this could be annoying I can understand why she keeps doing it, all she cares about is Bell and she slowly learns that she needs to not just rely on herself to fix it. There is plenty of action and danger throughout.

There are some deaths at the end of the book that just hurt me and I really wasn't expecting that at all. There is a betrayal that I really didn't see coming until the last second which I love when I cant figure it out, I was just too invested in finding out what happens next that I didn't try and figure out the plot twist.

All in all I really enjoyed this story, I couldn't put the book down and am already onto book 3!

“Stop longing to be less, Haven, and accept that you are more. Stop apologizing for the fire inside you. Instead, burn and burn like the sun until you set the world ablaze.”

The best ACOTAR fanfic I’ve read.

I actually loved this book and it’s not a rip off of A Court of Thorns and Roses. More like a loving homage.

Team Stolas

Is that still a thing? Did I unintentionally age myself?

Admittedly this took me forever to read through because I was thoroughly distracted by other books. This book picks right up from book 1. I really enjoyed the journey of getting all the pieces to break the curse. There was a lot of action and intense moments for Haven and crew. Another thing I liked, was the bonding moments between Haven and her Solis companions. I sincerely LOVED these group of characters. Bell got less whiney in this as well and we got more lore dump with him and The Creature! Their budding relationship was very cute as well. What really solidified this book for me was the last 20% of the book. OH MY GOD SO MUCH STUFF HAPPENED. My emotions were played with ruthlessly! I CRIED! The ending was so WILD.

Okay, now for things I didn’t like. For nearly every single piece of the curse items alllll the way to the end Haven just nearly DIES every time. It was getting to the point where I was like “oh look, she’s gravely injured…AGAIN!” I started almost feeling bad for her and supremely annoyed at the same time. The other thing that I’m not liking is the current love triangle that’s going on right now. I’m not a suuuuuper big fan of love triangles at all. This book really laid it on thick with moments between Haven and Archeron. We did get some sad backstory with Stolas and a little training/banter time with him but not enough for me to feel super connected to his character at the moment. Because of that, I can’t help but ship Haven and Archeron. BUT! Because this really seems like a love triangle, I can’t help but think the future books are going to pull something that will make Archeron seem like a dickhead and pull him from the running for Haven’s affections and the story will OBVIOUSLY go towards a Haven x Stolas endgame BECAUSE it’s always the edgy, broken, dark, broody men that are the true endgame lover. Which, all in all is such a shame because why can’t Haven have both ya know? Make this a three-way love story (I read way too much reverse harems that I’m like why can’t she have both?) I read A LOT of romances so my expectations with how a relationship develops is very high and I can be very picky about it.

If we are just talking about plot, however, this book definitely did a great job with closing the first “arc” of this story.
