I liked Passion, and it is very different than the previous two books in the series. In this book, we see Daniel and Luce, over centuries and how they've found each other, time and time again. I did like seeing how they found each other, and I certainly liked seeing how Luce reacted to her past. However, Daniel's chapters were really confusing, and, for me, didn't add a whole lot to the book. If they were a little more like Luce's chapters, I don't think I would have minded as much, and they did get less confusing as the book went on. But for the most part, they didn't work for me.
It was really slow, and there were times where I was pretty bored reading it. Especially with the switch in narrators, and I've already talked about how Daniel's chapters didn't work for me. It just made the book seem more confusing and also...we're perfectly fine in Luce's world, and then things change suddenly, and it made the book seem like a big, huge mess. It made the book feel like Kate wasn't sure what direction to go in with this book.
We do discover the reason for the time travel, but I feel like it took us a while to get there. I get why Luce had to time travel, but it could have been a lot more interesting. Maybe we just didn't get enough time in each time period.
Unfortunately, Daniel didn't get any better in this book, and while I didn't like him before...I think I liked him even less in this book. The tortured soul thing is bored and tired and downright irritating. Luce, while entirely too trusting (cough *Bill* cough), was at least doing something. Daniel, on the other hand, spent a lot of time moping around.
Oh, speaking of Bill...I liked him for a bit, but I wasn't surprised by his story line. At all. Well, parts of it, anyway. I thought other parts were...sorta lame.
Nothing was really explained, and and things seem to come of nowhere. Like, we learned a little more about the relationship between Daniel and Cam, that too wasn't explained well. And it came out of nowhere. I feel like that happened a lot in this. Things come out of nowhere and aren't really explained.
My Rating: 3 stars. I'm wavering between 2 and 3 stars for this one, but I decided to go with 3 for this one. I did like seeing Luce time travel and I did like seeing her reaction to her past selves. Even though a lot of things didn't make sense, for some reason, I did still like this book, though it's my least favorite book in the series so far.

I am continuing my time reading this series for the readathon Realmathon hosted by CoverswithCassidy. This is an older YA series and I am pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying this series overall.
I thought the concept for this book was really unique I really liked traveling back in time and revisiting Luce's past lives. I still have so many unanswered questions regarding Luce and Danielle's relationship and why Luce keeps dying. Things hasn't really been answered yet in the 3.5 books I've read in this series. But I am still invested enough to find out how this series is going to wrap-up and hopefully get some answers we are seeking.
Overall I am still having a fun time I think it is a unique enough storyline>

I love this book.
I enjoyed Seeing some of Luce's past lives. I loved that there was a point of view from Daniels side.
And what happens in the end - I can't wait to read 'Rapture'
Daniel and Luce's love is just amazing.

I have to say that, of the three books that I have read thus far, I liked the first two the best. I did not really like this one as much until the end when I read about what happened during the Fall and what that meant for the angels' future. It seemed to drag on a little too much for my liking. Other than that, no complaints!
Not nearly as good as Fallen or Torment, but it was interesting to see all of Daniel and Luce's past lives together...by the end, I was finally rooting for the two of them (as opposed to Torment where I was all about her getting with Miles). My one issue is that Luce acted like a complete idiot through most of the book; I just kept wondering how she could act so stupid.
I had no idea there was going to be a fourth book, and it almost feels like they're dragging this saga further than it needs to go. I'll probably read it just because I'm interested to see how the whole thing finally ends, but I'm pretty sure the fourth book is unnecessary.

This is my least favorite book of the Fallen series so far. I really enjoyed Fallen, and haven't liked a book in the series since. I am in no hurry to continue on with this series since every book after Fallen has been disappointing.
Things I liked:
- The concept of the story line is really interesting. This is the only aspect of this book that I enjoyed and it is the only reason that I am continuing on in this series.
Things I didn't like:
- Luce is extremely annoying. She continues to make the worst choices and she made me want to stop reading this book so many times.
- This book jumps from one of Luce's lives to the next. It is very jarring and doesn't flow well. Just as soon as you get invested in one story, BAM, you are into the next.
- I don't think a lot of the concepts are explained well. I kept wondering how certain things were happening (Announcers, etc) and they are never really explained. Also, some of the things that occur don't make sense.
- Bill is terrible. And the fact that Luce doesn't even question his motives after he continually deceives her is ridiculous. After everything that has happened and all the warnings Daniel has given her, she continues to blindly trust strangers.
- The whole book is so frustrating and I wanted to stop reading so many times. The only thing that stopped me was the fact that I want to know more about the different concepts explored in the book.
