I was a little scared as to whether or not I would like this book because it is a prequel (of sorts) and I have read a lot of reviews where people didn't seem to like the book much. But I loved it because the time traveling was so cool. It was a lot of fun to get to read about Luce's past lives and to see her and Daniel throughout time. Except when you have to read about her death(s), that was pretty intense to read, especially getting to see Daniel's reaction. The cool thing about this book is that is was a prequel in the sense that the book was about going to the past, but it was the present Luce that was going back to learn. Learning about the curse was really interesting and seeing things from both Luce and Daniel's perspectives at different times in the past was a really cool aspect. Also the trouble Luce gets herself into at the end definitely sets up nicely for the last book Rapture, I can't wait to see what will happen with that.
Luce is still pretty insecure and doubtful of herself and Daniel's love, which can get annoying at times. I see where she is coming from and it is important to the story. There were a few times where I wanted to smack her because she was doing something dumb and didn't even know it. I am glad that she finally figured things out and hopefully now she can do something about it. I loved reading from Daniel's perspective and getting to learn more about his past. Seeing the others in the past was fun as well. I was glad to finally get some answers to questions that have come up in past books. I cannot wait to see what will ultimately happen in Rapture, it is sure to be a crazy ride!

I WAS AWESOME!
I must admit it took me a while to get back into the story. For those who are fans of this book YOU FINALLY FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS STORY. I am sure many of you were like me and found yourself lost in the story. I admit though this keeps you more involved in the story as you want to know what is going on as much as Luce does.
This story takes a step back from the present as Luce travels her past lifes to find out the mystery of the curse between her and Daniel. You finally find out! Thank you Lauren Kate! My sanity is now intact :)
This story has you buzzing from the beginning to the end as you warp through time (which I have to say was very enjoyable). I can't wait for the next book! Those are fans of the series will not be disappointed is all I have to say.
Happy Reading!

I struggled a lot with the pacing. Felt a lot like watching a season of a serial drama where you want the ten minutes of ongoing storyline but have to power through half an hour of non-essential happenings. Ending was good, but this book could’ve been a lot shorter to get to the same point.

The amount of time traveling and larger world building/huge story this is setting up bothered me when I first read this, but it works if you're willing to go along with it. The highlight is still always Lucinda learning more about herself and Daniel and that continued to work for me in this one.
Book number 3 is much more exciting than book 2. It was really fun reading about some of Luce's previous lives and getting to experience the many different lives she had.
Bill was an interesting new character and even though I knew I couldn't trust him he was still great company for Luce during her travels.
There were less appearances from Daniel in this book too which made it a lot more bearable and by the end of it he is back to being the guy I liked in book 1. The rest of the fallen angels also weren't in it as much but by the end you know a big storm is coming for the final book and I'm really excited to read the last one!

This was an interesting story. I liked all the different lives.
This has to be my absolute favorite of the 4 Fallen books. In this sequel Luce travels to her different incarnations, going further and further into the past. Each time she sees a different version of herself and a different version of Daniel. Each time she learns more about the curse and about their relationship. It's fascinating to see Luce from the more and more distant past all the way back to the time of the Mayans. Definitely my favorite book of the 4!
