i gave this book a 2.5 out of 5 stars. I pretty much hate this series and the author but its sooo freaking addicting that i cant stop reading. I just want to read the last book to know how it ends but i thought to myself maybe i should read the 3rd book just in case they reveal some important information.

In that case i was pretty much wrong. Every life that Luce goes back and watches(or experiences) lead her to the same goddamn conclusion: "OMG Daniel must really love me! He watches me die every life but still seeks me out cause he cant stand to be away from me!" EVERY FUCKING TIME, i kid you not that is basically what she says every time she goes back.

One of my biggest problems with Luce is that she's weak, physically and emotionally. And my problem with Daniel is that i simply don't like him and never did. They do not LOVE each other, they LUST each other. i still dont know why they truly fell in love after reading 3 fucking books!!! UGH!

But at least at the end of this you do kinda find out why they were cursed. But its at the very end of the book. The only interesting parts of the book are like the last 50pages, those are the only pages that answer any questions. Yet the book is over 400 pages long....

Overall a lot of this book is pointless, everything is redundant and repeats itself. The author for some reason takes up an entire page EACH LIFE to tell how much love Luce has for Daniel. Honestly, if you could punch an author, Lauren Kate would be knocked out.

Solid 3.5 stars. this book has a lot of good.. but so much bad. I'm glad it finally filled in a lot of gaps in relation to the 'curse' and gave more back story to Luce and Daniel. however.. how can Daniel and other angels.. just 'forget' that they went back in time and met themselves?! I've never been a fan of time traveling anyways.. but I hated how 'NOW' it made sense that she needed to go back in time to fix everything and it looks like Daniel was the one anyways. I still had trouble believing their 'ever-lasting' love.. it's still so fake... and now you want me to believe Daniel and Luce caused the end of the Mayans.. and THE fire at the Globe theatre?!come on. and Cam was going to marry Lillith?! ugh. Also.. Bill was a little obvious there Luce.. but, I'm glad she was able to see a glimpse of past lives even though there may have been TOO many..

I love the whole travelling through time to meet the different Luce's aspect of this book, and meeting each version of her and how different each life was. I wish there were more stops in history but I still really enjoyed this book.

The 3rd installment of the Fallen series wasn't my favourite of the bunch but I thoroughly enjoyed how deeply the novel delve into Luce's character which gave me a better undersding of some of her character traits that had irked me in the previous installments of the series. All in all a good emotional and developmental base for the penultimate book in the series.

If simultaneously insulting the entirety of the Mayan civilization and ripping off Mulan was an Olympic sport, this would take gold, silver AND bronze.

Even Bill, the gargoyle sidekick couldn’t save this one.

The romance is so insubstantial, what the hell was teen me smoking?
(The answer is nothing, don’t do drugs kids - make sure your bad literary choices are 100% your fault)

This book was really cool, I loved going through all of Luce's previous lives. Best one so far.

So damn pine-y I wanted to slit my wrists...

There was potential in the storyline to make it entertaining and not painful to read but the opportunity was squandered. While her writing isn't horrible, it reminded me of the shitty Twilight books when Bella just can't get over how gorgeous Edward is. Same here with Luce. When she's not busy wanting to jump into his arms, passionately kiss his perfect lips while running her hands through is silky blond hair as he flies her away (yes, this IS what it's like reading the thing), she's complaining/pining over Daniel b/c she so desperately misses him. Then again, maybe this was Kate's point. Adolescence is ALL high drama and end-of-the-world emotions.

But the most frustrating aspect, by far, is when major plot points have gaping holes that can't be bothered to contain an explanation. For example, her soul is traveling back through time and connecting with her former selves. Her guide informs that her mortal body can go on if her soul dies. Uhm, really? How? According to religion, specifically Christianity (which is what's alluded to here), no soul = no life.

The only redemptive quality I found in the book was the travel through time. It ignited my interest in wanting to look into the periods Luce visited whenever she threw herself into an Announcer. War torn Russia, Prussian princess, English snob, even a stint as a Mayan sacrifice and a Tahitian tattoo (or should I say tatao?) artist.

I sincerely hope Rapture turns out much better.

I am disappointed that this series hasn't stayed as awesome as the first book, but I'm still enjoying the story. The series is at least very cohesive - it can be tough for me to keep track of where one book ends and the next begins. I did like the time travel element of this book, but the short bursts left me wanting more. Traveling by announcer still leaves me highly confused and made a lot of holes in the plot for me. I'd be more specific, but I don't want to create any spoilers. Suffice it to say, I liked the book, but I didn't love it.

Uhm one word: intense. From the first page to the last, the book takes you on a wild ride of intensity through the past lives of Lucinda price over the last 5000 or so years. And just when you think there's going to be a happy ending for Luce and Daniel, BAM! There's another, FINAL book coming out next spring to keep you interested. All in all, a good book. I enjoyed reading Luce's journey of her past-selves even though I originally thought the opposite. There's some unexpected-but-expected characters that show up in the novel, so watch out.
