La trampa del amor

Slightly repetitive (they meet, fall in love, kiss and Bam! Luce goes up in flames). But charming to read about their past lives!

Infinitely better than Fallen and Torment. There was definitely more originality in this.
Of course there was a little similarity to Eclipse like- Bella is more sure of her love for Edward in Eclipse and in Passion, Luce is more certain of her love for Daniel. But overall, it was definitely more original.
It was also more exciting to read and visit all the different counties and time periods. Though they were very short visits and not too much detail was given, I found it more enjoyable to read than the previous two books. Though, I question the research the author did into these time periods. I felt at times something was off and perhaps not correct.
As for the characters, Luce was less annoying in this, she was more tolerable to listen to but she is incredibly naive. I do like Daniel again after reading all of the times his past selves lost Luce. Cam was once again absent. Though we did get to see a little of his background I still wanted to know more. But it was nice to read about the history of Luce and Daniel and to know more about them.
The cover for this book is the worst out of all four. I don't think it reflects what the book is about at all.
The only thing I hated was the ending which just left me confused and disappointed. The ending let down the rest of the book. Nothing was really ever shown or explained properly. Its just sort of mentioned and then that's it - we're just supposed to accept the things we are told. Ultimately - just very confusing. That would be my one word to describe this series - Confusing.

I'll be glad to end this series with Rapture now. I do think this series could have been wrapped up in 3 books - Torment was unnecessary (elements of Fallen and Torment could have been combined to make just one book).

Well, this book wasn't quite what I wish it had been, but then I thought this would be the last book in the Fallen series. The writing was pretty good, but all of the trips through Lucy's past lives became pretty tedious by about 2/3 of the way through the book. I couldn't tell you if I will actually finish this series or not. I was ready for it to be done. Whatever happened to the good old trilogy?

I'm still going back and forth with this series. There were some really good things with this book - improving Daniels's character by giving us a better perspective of his life (and torment). He's not so annoying anymore. Luce also had more depth to her. The plot moved quicker, but things still don't make sense to me.
There were also pretty lame things, too - why do these female main characters have to be so clueless and lack instinct?! I read through "Bill" the minute he showed up. Also, LK - let's make the evil incarnate a bit more menacing rather than a cheesy villain. I'm pretty sure that Satan shouldn't make me roll my eyes. We still don't understand why Daniel and Luce love each other - oh, wait, Luce tells us: "a million reasons. I just do." LAME-O! She can do better than that - that was the perfect opportunity to show Luce as a strong character but ended up being one of the lamest parts in the book; along with the most "wonderful" kiss in the world that included teeth knocking. Oh, and I'm not going to get into the bad theology - that's not why I read the book. I hope LK can wrap up this series with one more book!
medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix

The part where the author decides to take a racist stereotypical take on Maya people is so messed up. Romanticizing the white last lives of Luce and yet demonizing brown people. Yikes. Not finishing this series. The author could have just left out the Maya and stuck to white people.

I READ THESE A LONG TIME AGO BUT THEY R SO GOOD

I knew that the whole fact that something had already changed, meant that she was trying hella hard for no reason. The whole time she kept doing things that didn't seem like such a good idea. It was obvious who Bill was yet she became friends with him, let him "help" her and use her. Wth? Luce irritated me yet again and kept doing stupid selfish things and then by the end she's like "oh he loves me, I love him, yay!" Really yo? I give this one 5 stars because i didnt hate it like the other ones and i was used to Luce being stupid and selfish. The series is not my favorite but its interesting though tragic and tormenting and stupid at times. I couldnt put it down because i had to know what would happen.

I'm hovering between three and four stars, so I rounded up.

First off, not a prequel. Luce is traveling.back through time to find the answers she needs. We do not experience these past lives first hand,.but through our present day Luce.

I found all the past lives and history fascinating. However, we don't get to see their very first time falling in love. We witness the curse being made,.but by that point Daniel is already in love. This irks me.

I also must admit I have the same problem Lucinda does: why must they already (practically) be in love as soon as they lay eyes on each? Guess it's soul recognition or whatever...

Also, I hate Bill, but I guess that's to be expected. His whole role, especially at the end, I just find slightly laughable...

Will I read Rapture? Yes. You better bet i'll buy it the day it's released. Who doesn't want to know how it ends?
