seriously? she hasn't figured it out already?! this book was almost as pointless as the second one. i get where she's trying to go with this, and i think the ending of the 4th one will be good, but books 2 and 3 really needed to be just one book.
I really wanted to like this book, but just ended up feeling disappointed in the end. Maybe I could just never get over the talking gargoyle or Luce being a complete idiot. Everytime we were wisked away to a new time and place with Luce I would get excited something different would happen, but nothing ever did. Cam's story could have been so much more, being the best character in the series, but it was just so short and rushed. Why can't we know why Daniel and Luce love each other? When or how they fell in love at least? Give me something to keep me interested!
“I’ll love you with all my heart, in every life, through every death. I
will not be bound by anything but my love for you.”
“Every single lifetime, I'll choose you.
Just as you have always chosen me. Forever.”

This book was slightly frustrating because I wanted to have a book of Daniel and Luce together but I loved seeing their former lives and seeing Luce learn the things she learned so it gets a solid 4 stars from me.
I liked it but at the same time I didn't. I still plan on reading the next one though.

No. Just No. The repetitive cycle of the bulk of this book is just rather pointless. Luce supposedly "learns" things from each life, but what she learns is a mystery to me. Then comes the ending.... I think I have a pet peeve of books that try to make it all happen in the Epilogue. If it is a last chapter, call it a last chapter, not an epilogue. In the end, the overall story is not really resolved in any way. I am left confused.
Again, we can't give halves, but I felt a little better about bumping this one up to 4 stars. I felt like this book had a lot of promise. That is until I hit a certain chapter (that I won't say where it is but I'm sure you'll feel the same when you hit it.) I guess, the best way to explain is that I wasn't AS irritated about being strung along and getting little answers as I was in the second book. I heard the next book is the final book and I'm a little scared that we'll never know what ever really happened between them to make this all happen in the first place. I have to say, though, this book made me want to actually purchase the series instead of borrowing it from the library.
