each book is better than the last!? i like how you see her past lives, i hope the explore that more in the other books.

I'm loving it!

This started out decent enough, it was really interesting at first but eventually became so repetitive and ridiculous that I felt myself skimming pages just so I could "finish".

Another solid entry in the Fallen series from Lauren Kate!! This series just keeps getting better and better. In Passion, Luce is leap-frogging through time witnessing her love with Daniel in all of their in all of their incarnations. This is my absolute favorite part of this book! You get to see all the lifestyle differences between the different generations and times. It’s a fantastic way to show that no matter who they are (or when they are), their soles are linked and the love between their soles is what draws them together year after year and life after life.

I know, I know. This is NOT my typical read. It sounds like it’s all rainbows and tweety birds. Not so much! Much like Torment (Fallen Series #2), Passion is like being stuffed head first into an emotional vice grip. It’s heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. You spend almost the entire book being held right on the brink of tears, just hoping and praying that this couple will finally get a break.

Passion has the same cast of characters with a few new ones. A “few” meaning as long as your dont include the countless “versions” of Luce and Daniel. For the most part, we now know who Luce’s friends are and who the people are that she can count on. Although it doesn’t absolve him of his past behavior, we also get a glimpse into the reasons why Cam is the way he is. Passion gives you that glimpse and although he’s a demon, you are left with a little bit of closure and understanding.

As for closure, you’re not going to find any of that with Passion. Just as with Fallen and Torment, Passion leaves us off with a massive cliffhanger. There is no closure, only a great big fat TO BE CONTINUED sign. This series is definitely one whose installments can not be read as stand alone stories. However, I don’t exactly find that to be a bad thing.

Being aimed at a young adult audience, the total of four books that make up this series probably would have made a very intimidating tome to a teenager picking it up in a book store. Breaking it up into four parts was definitely a good thing to do. On that same note, I like there to be some sort of feeling of closure at the end of an installment in a series and you do not get that with the Fallen series. Everything is left so wide open that it’s almost frustrating. Having bought all of the audiobooks ahead of time, it wasn’t terribly frustrating for me…..until now.

Now that I am done with Passion, I am all caught up. That means I am officially in Literary Limbo with the Fallen series. The good news?? I love this series enough that I am greatly anticipating the fourth and final installment, Rapture. I think that this series is going to wrap up with one hell of a bang and I will be one of the first in line to get my copy of June 12th.

A great big Kudos to Ms. Kate for taking a very mediocre first installment and spinning it into a series that has me 100% hooked. I give Passion an enthusiastic 4 stars!

I literally kept falling asleep whenever I picked up this book. No wonder it took me so long.

For a reincarnation story, it was definitely dull business. Will only read the last book since I might as well see how this mess ends.

I liked the creativity of this one, it was different than the others which was refreshing in a way. The first two books had set up for the revelation of some of their past lives well, and I liked the idea. My biggest problem with this book (and the series as a whole tbh) is that each book is around 400 pages and yet the plot is moving forward at a snails pace. This entire thing was basically just filler, and by book 3/4 in a series I expect more substance. It feels to me like this series could be transformed into one, maybe two, well written and concise books and I would have enjoyed that more. It seems like there are some really obvious things that keep being hinted at but skirted around just to prolong the series. Which maybe would work better if I cared about the characters or the romance more but despite Luce's best efforts to convince me and herself otherwise, it still feels like insta-love.

Also I'm genuinely begging Luce at this point to get some critical thinking skills or trust issues. How many times is she going to be tricked without even hesitating for a second before accepting that everything (in this crazy world where she's seen multiple bad things happen) is all sunshine and rainbows and no one could have bad intentions.
