Another satisfying read. I thought this was going to be the last Erika Foster book, but now I’m not so sure. I’m hoping it won’t be.

Wow! I think this book is my second favourite now because the first book will always be my most favourite of this series!
I think Erika got her mojo back in this installment which was lacking a bit in the last book and we get to see huge character development in the other side characters like Peterson and Moss which made me squeal in delight. The crime in this story is gruesome and shocking and it was successful in captivating me from the very start.
I couldn't guess the culprit like I did in the last installment so my excitement was sky high and I finished this book in just 2 days which is quite rare for me.
The pacing was great and the slow build of suspense through out the story kept me on my toes. We experience the soft side of Erika in this story which is excellent and it reminded me that no matter how tough a person is on the outside, the inside of that person tells another story!
I'm with Erika through and through and waiting anxiously for the next book in this series.

Couldn't put my kindle down!
Erika is once again on a twisty case with lots of misdirection and action. I keep waiting for her to break with all the weight she carries, but she keeps revealing secrets and solving cases like she's the only one who can. Great writing and great characters.

A murder has been committed on Christmas eve. A woman named Marrisa Lewis is attacked by someone in a gas mask on her way back home from work. In the morning Detective Chief Inspector Erika Foster arrives on the crime scene. We soon learn that there has been plenty of attacks by someone in a gas mask and the search for the murderer is on.
In the course of the investigation we also learn that Marrisa wasn’t all that meets the eye. She had tons of secrets each slowly revealed by all the suspects. Each with their own trauma.

Aqui estou no último volume desta série magnífica.

This was an excellent addition to the series. Lots of twists and turns along the way, plus several detours to add even more nuance to the story. Erika was out of town seeing to her ailing father-in-law during a few days at the height of the case, and some big excitement happened during that time. But she finished up and got home in time to set things straight, as usual.
Detective Inspector Peterson is back to work following his recuperation for injuries from a previous book - um, or case - but relations are a bit strained between him and Erika, which is not surprising as her relations with everyone are normally strained to some extent. But he seems to have a secret that Erika is afraid to hear, and when she discovers what it is, the relationship strains to the breaking point.
The ending was interesting and unexpected, to say the least.

Deadly Secrets may be the sixth book in the brilliant Erika Foster series but the author has written it so that he gives enough background so that anyone wanting to dive straight into this one can easily do so.
The story is set at Christmas time. There is no festive spirit or Christmas cheer in this book though. Set at the coldest time of the year, the author takes us on a dark and chilling journey in the hunt for a killer.
Erika never fails to surprise me. I enjoyed there being a bit more of her personal life as it reminds you of how human she is. She very much comes across as being some kind of super woman and constantly pushes people away and lot letting anyone in.
The case is a truly intriguing one. Someone going around in black wearing a gas mask. You can’t help but get creeped out. I love how the author doesn’t give anything away and kept me guessing throughout. I truly had no idea who could be behind the killings and when all is revealed, with some shocking twists, it won’t be what you are expecting!
Deadly Secrets is a thrilling and addictive read that chilled me to the bone. The author ensured he commandeered my attention right from the start and didn’t let me go until the very last page. I am proud to admit that I am an Erika Foster junkie who is on a high now having her fix. Please Mr Bryndza, don’t leave me hanging too long until my next one.
