I really enjoy the Erika Foster series, and once again I read this one quite quickly. As prickly as Erika can be, she's an intense and likeable character and I love the way she does her job.

This case was throwing everyone all over the place, and even when I thought I had it figured it out, I didn't. I was close, in a way, but I didn't have the whole story. Particularly with one of the revelations at the end. Wow it turned it around completely!

I also enjoyed getting to know Moss and Peterson a bit more in this book and the whole team works so well together that the secondary characters are always just as much a part of the story as Erika is.

Overall this was another great book from Robert Bryndza, it reads easily just like the rest in the series, and it keeps you hooked, and wanting to get to the bottom of the story. Definitely recommend.

Vrij simpele detective waarin teveel saai zijpaden worden gemaakt.

Grisly, twisted, macabre scenes.
Flawed Erika plus Moss and Peterson.
Snow and all life’s sad people.
Plus Erika’s father in law.
All key ingredients for another Erika Foster novel. I do hope light comes into Erika’s life at some point - no one can be so doom laden and survive
Enjoyed all the grisly twists and turns once again.
dark mysterious tense fast-paced

“Perhaps he did kill her. It just goes to show, you don’t really know the people who you share your life with.”

To commit the perfect murder, you need the perfect cover. Book 6 in the Erika Foster series and it didn’t disappoint. One cold morning a mother wakes up to find her daughter dead on her door step.

Erika moves from her last case straight into this investigation to reclaim her title and to prove to herself that she’s still got it. As she begins her investigation she uncovers a string of assaults that fit the same description. The one thing linking them together was each victim was attacked by a man wearing a gas mask.

As the case unfolds Erika uncover a web of lies surrounding the death of the beautiful young woman. Erika begins to piece together clues surrounding the case she’s forced to confront painful memories from her past. She lands herself in hot water when she realises who the murderer really is! This book has you holding your breath right until the end.

One of the reasons I love Bryndza's writing so much is because he never gives anything away until the bad guys gets caught. This is still my favorite Murder mystery series. I’ve grown quite attached to Erika Foster and the strong independent crime stopping woman she is!

מוצלח והופך דפים כמו כל הספרים בסדרה.

Another fantastic, well-written release from Robert Bryndza and the Detective Erika Foster series, which has quickly climbed to one of my favourite detective/ crime series, and which never fails to draw me into Erika's world so completely. I know once I pick up a novel in this series I won't be able to do anything else until I've finished it!

As well as lots of gripping investigation and police work, plus glimpses into the life of a disturbing killer, we also see a bit more of Erika's soft side as she helps her father in law and deals with some surprising news from a certain someone...

I love the police procedural element of the story - as always the plot is gripping, tight and excellently written, with the perfect mix of personal elements surrounding Erika's team and the police work itself.

Deadly Secrets could be read as a stand-alone, but with five previous (brilliant) novels to get stuck into, I recommend starting from the beginning so you know as much as possible about Erika and her background, as this only enhances each story!

Many thanks to Bookouture for providing a copy of this novel on which I chose to write an honest and unbiased review.

The last of the series to date. Ambitious.
