Best Erica Foster book yet! I feel like we got a lot of development of her character in this book.

7 dagen, 1 boek. Dit was verre het beste boek uit de serie. Als je begint, zorg dat je genoeg tijd hebt want dit is een echte page-Turner. Wanneer je denkt dat je weet waar het verhaal heen gaat, wordt je weer op het verkeerde been gezet en bij het slot komt daar nog een dosis bij. Bryndza blijft trouw aan de karakter die al reeds zijn gebouwd in de vorige delen en voegt daar extra dimensie aan te. Jammer dat er nog maar 1 boek in deze serie is.

Cannot wait to read the next one in the series !

Robert Bryndza definitely did not disappoint in this latest book in the Detective Erika Foster series. The only disappointment is that there is no book 7 out yet! On her way to lunch on Christmas Day, Erika comes across a crime scene. Even though it's Christmas, she can't stop herself from working. A young woman has been brutally stabbed in her front yard - left for her mother to find her. At the same time, there have been a series of attacks around London by a person wearing a gas mask and the team wonder if the gas mask stalker could also be a killer. Erika is called to Manchester for an emergency with her father-in-law and Moss takes over the case. This book kept me guessing right to the very end.

Finalmente terminei um livro! As minhas expetativas para os livros do Robert estão sempre altas. São livros fáceis de ler e acompanhar, mas este... não me puxou tanto, e a verdade é que as minhas leituras andam péssimas e não sei se de alguma forma o meu humor influenciou a minha experiência de leitura. De qualquer forma, achei a história muito sem sal.
Muita investigação à volta de um crime, para ser descoberto nas últimas 5 páginas do livro. Não deixa de ser frustrante, principalmente quando percebi quem era, ou poderia ser o culpado. Não estava à espera das razões, mas ser falado apenas mesmo no final também não transmitiu a mensagem que deveria. No entanto, percebo que se tivesse sido falado desde o início, ia passar a ser um livro com uma temática diferente do que se pretende. (Estou a tentar evitar spoilers, se já leram acho que percebem o que quero dizer).
Não há grande conclusão para as personagens, mas não é algo que esperava. Tenho pena de me despedir delas, e saber que já não há mais livros sobre a Erika e os restantes. Acho que a história do Peterson apareceu um pouco à toa. De todos, foi talvez o que menos gostei.
Recomendo na mesma a leitura de todos da série. Não estou cheia de vontade para começar a nova sobre a inspectora Kate, mas sei que são livros que tiram dos meus reading slumps por isso é esperar para ver.
