Heartwarming

As always Mellisa melted my heart and brought a few tears! I absolutely loved Jock and Daphne's story. They both have their own past trauma to deal with. Will love be enough for Jock to conquer his demons? Can Daphne put her trust into another man? Read this heartwarming story to find out!!

Tempted by Love by Melissa Foster is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jennifer Mack and Brian Pallino. This is the first book in the Steele’s At Silver Island Series.

I absolutely love Melissa’s books. They always pull me in and leave a smile on my face. I loved the relationship between Jock and Daphne. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series My True Love to get Grant and Jules love story.

Jennifer and Brian did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life and I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you love romance books. It will give you all the feels!!!

Favorite Melissa Foster so far

I believe every word of Jocks struggle with Hadley and Daphne. I fell in with Silver Island wishing it was real. I could feel the love of connection and family.

Melissa Foster never fails to sweep me away into her heartfelt love stories and enchanting worlds. Tempted by Love is a sweet, emotional, and poignant love story- the first in the well loved Steeles as Silver Island series, and let me tell you, these characters will STEELE your whole heart.

I love single parent love stories, especially with characters who have a bit more lived experience, more world weary. Not only is it more relatable, but it makes the characters so empathetic- something Melissa Foster always excels as creating. Our hero Jock is such a dreamy hero. Making a visit to Silver Island, he’s trying to refind his artistic muse and himself after losing his best friend, only he also finds single mom Daphne and her scene stealing kiddo Hadley. It’s love at first sight, but these two have a lot of baggage to work through before they can lean into what seems too good to be true. Oh, and I just loved them both. I loved what a fierce mama Daphne was, but also what a tender and gentle heart she had under all her steel. And Jock’s heartache and vulnerability will touch your soul- he’s been through a lot and has a lot to work through, and I love how Daphne matches him every step of the way.

Sometimes all you need is the unconditional love of a kiddo, or a new found love, to remind you to open up your heart. Loving is a risk, especially when loving someone has left you heartbroken, and I loved watching these two soul mates find the courage in each other to take the risk to love, to lean into the potential of happiness. This book has so many heart hitting emotive moments- all the feels! But also so much swoon, and a bit of laughter. Melissa so poignantly gives us a story about people working through their pasts and their insecurities from finding emotional safety in another- they truly fall in love as friends as much as lovers- growing into better versions of themselves. Not to mention, we have a great supporting cast, including the Steele crew, enriching their journey along the way. It’s hard not to fall in love with them all. I just adored this visit to Steele Island, and I can’t wait to fall in love with the couples to come. Dreamy, emotive, and so very sweet- it’s everything I love about Melissa Foster.

This was such a beautiful love story. I adore the characters and the chemistry so much. I loved all the different dynamics too.
I felt all the emotions right along with the characters. The authors writing was so beautifully done. Towards the end I even teared up because the emotions were so raw and real.

The ending was absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to Daphne and Jocks story.

I swear Melissa Foster can write some romance and pull out all the feels. When I first laid eyes on Jock was in Bayside Fantasies, it was when he noticed Daphne. We get their story in the first of the new series, the Steeles of Silver Island. The tales there are going to be so good. But back to Jock. He has tragedy behind him; Melissa helps us feel the pain he's enduring as he tries to move past his pain and guilt. This story is complex and profoundly moving. Yes, tissues were involved.

Daphne, a single mom, has her daughter Hadley who has the most winsome personality ever. I believe Hadley is going to be an old soul, but she loves and loves hard. Her character is a driving force in the novel's movement, and it makes for another layer of emotion that just pulls at your heartstrings. When Jock and Daphne begin building on their friendship and mutual attraction, everything clicks, and we know the story will only get better. We have a fantastic supporting cast from previous books that give support, advice, and action. Plus, we meet the Steeles (Jock's family), who will entertain us as this new series progresses.

I enjoy Melissa's writing, and this is one I enjoyed enormously. The first books I read by Melissa were the Sugar Lake books, and all three of those novels involved tissues, lots of tissues. This book is the same, Jock is an unforgettable character, and Daphne is perfect for him. Add in the delightful Hadley, and this book is setting the stage for a stellar new series.
