Well, this is awkward. DNF at 36%??? Considering I apparently "suggested" this for our buddy read?! LOL! SORRY LADIES, but I just couldn't get into the story. I kept getting distracted and finding reasons to do something else. It couldn't even tempt me enough to sneak in some reading time while at work and running errands. :/
2.5 stars. While the male lead was not your typical alphahole sports maniac I just couldn't get past the constant references to the female lead's intelligence. "She's very smart," came up ad nauseum and felt like a weak pass at what could have been some spectacular character development.
DNF - this book is silly. The interactions between the 2 main characters seem forced. The writer is trying to hard to make sexy happen. It's not happening.

I just didn't like the relationship here, they both changed their minds, blew hot and cold and hurt each other for most the book. I didn't like how strongly Ronan came on to Annie in the beginning, he put her in a really awkward position where it would have been really difficult to turn him down, sure she liked hi but I just didn't like how he pushed. I've seen it before and it makes me really uncomfortable, a guy comes on too strongly and the woman tries to get him to back off but struggles because it's a professional situation and she's trying to be polite. I also found Annie irritating for a lot of the book-she's just so timid.
Also I don't follow Rugby religiously but I wouldn't say the Hooker is one of the big names on the team- that's usually the fly half or another of the backs, there are certainly great hookers out there but I wouldn't compare the position itself to a quarterback (I'd probably go with the fly half if I had to choose- they score big points, and are usually the leader of the backs).

This book was not at all what I expected. I loved it. It was original and angsty without being cliche. Annie was extremely likeable and you cheered her on every step of the way (except for that one part of the book, you know the one I am talking about). Ronan was hot and cocky and slightly douchy but oh so freaking loveable.
The story starts with Annie, an introverted 'hermit' that keeps to herself, doesn't like people and is happy with that. On the side? She is a popular blogger read by celebrities and people all around the world.
Ronan is the bad boy of rugby with a heart of gold that nobody knows about. He hides it behind his sexual advances and cocky demeanour.
Together they were like night and day. But there was a spark that neither could deny.
With twists and turns around every corner it is hard to think that these two would ever get together.
A definite recommend for someone looking for a romantic book that isn't just about romance.

Amazingly funny, a feel good read best teamed with chocolate....

I think the only think keeping me from rating this higher was my frustration with Annie. I really wanted to sympathize with her (and her background) but I found her to be a bit of a wet blanket with her constant social floundering!

I liked this book! I wanted to absolutely love it but everything felt a bit rushed... I wanted to get to know our main characters a bit more ESPECIALLY Annie, like I said I enjoyed this book and the awesome secondary characters but I wanted more exploration of the characters because I wanted to connect with them more than I did.
