The perfect mix of laugh out loud funny, tender and sentimental. I loved this story! Ronan was perfect and Annie was great! I loved how Ronan worked so hard to get Annie to come out of her shell.
I really like this book, I've been fan of Penny Reid for a while ago, but this new book with the add-up of L. H. Cosway was truly amazing. I will surely start looking for more books of both of them, but enough of the authors, let me talk about the book.
The Hooker and The Hermit, I read the title and it caught my attention. I mean, how can it not? Mr. Ronan Fitzpatrick or the hooker (which let me tell you is actually a position in rugby) is an absolutly jock with angerment issues and a hot body, and Ms. Annie Catrel, aka The Socialmedialite or the hermit, is the typical shy and beautiful girl that does not want to be noticed. I know, it's kind of cliché and there are some parts in the book in which I thought "oh, I was expecting that," but as well, there were some part were I was truly shocked and thinking "WTF."
I have grate respect for this book, it has the perfect combination of funny, sad, angry, and sexy. It was all I was expecting. I did for sure love the development of the characters and the reasons why they are what they are. It is not something just because they want to. But we can see how they step out of the shell and make the change.
So in summary, I really recomend this book to all the people that love their books with a little bit of emotion, sassy comments, and a sexy as fuck character.

I didn't like this BDSM thing, it felt so unnecessary . But i still liked the idea and the characters, they were great!

I've just stayed up until 3:38am to finish this book and I can't take a pause before writing this review for fear of losing the intensity of my feelings.
I am a HUGE Penny Reid stalker fan and get annoyingly giddy whenever I get to read a new book from her (and jealous when other people get to as well, but that's a story for another day). Alternatively, I haven't read anything from LH Cosway prior to this book and wasn't sure what to expect. Interestingly enough, this also happens to be my very first time reading an author collaboration.
While reading I can clearly tell the difference in who was writing which POV but at the same time the story flows so seamlessly that it's hard to remember that there were two different authors. Yeah, I don't quite understand it myself.
My opinion of it switched back and forth in the beginning. The first 1/2 of the story was good and, honestly, I felt a 4 star rating coming on. Then suddenly, I can't pinpoint where exactly, the whole story just opened up for me and I fell in love with each turn of phrase, every heartbreaking moment, every one of Annie's quirks and especially Ronan's filthy, sexy mouth. That 4 was quickly moving towards a 5.
I absolutely fell in love with Annie because she felt very much like the person I think that I am, the person I imagine that a lot of the readers who will read this story feel like they are. She's a perfect example of the quirky, smart, fun females that I've come to expect from the brilliant mind of Penny Reid. Then again, I also really fell for Ronan because, although he has a very dirty mouth (VERY DIRTY yet VERY DREAMY), he's also kind, smart and honest and see's Annie for who she really is.
Like the authors, I think this story had two sides to it. The first being a bit predictable and sort of commonplace for books as of late. The other being just different enough because of the unique voices that Penny and LH brought to it.
I'm still struggling between the 4 and the 5 because of this and so I've decided to take the easy way out at meet in the middle to give this 4.5 I still don't know how I feel stars!
*I received an ARC from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review

Huh. I did not expect the BDSM. And a lot of the way Ronan acted didn't sit well with me - no means no, Charlie Brown! (The one-star reviews for this book do a great job of laying out what I didn't like.) But I still enjoyed parts of it, and it made me laugh out loud a few times. So 2 stars, but I won't be reading more in this series, despite my general love for Penny Reid.
The title is a little off putting (until you read the book that is). I'm also not fond of men in spandex. Oh and don't even start with the toe shoes. Lol. Anyway, this book was so much fun. Loved every minute of it. :)
Honest review time...
I wanted to like this book more than I did. Annie was charming and relatable with her social anxiety. And Ronan was a hot, Irish rugby player. All signs pointed to an enjoyable sports romance. Which it was. However...I have some thoughts on Ronan as a love interest.
SPOILERS BELOW (maybe)
So Ronan is lowkey a dick. The man is OBSESSED with looks. His looks and he goes on a little rant with The Socialmedialite about how physical appearance is important which is why he hates social media. Also, when he meets Annie, he describes her as "curvy, but not fat." Thanks for that...
Also, I get he's supposed to be a dominant but he is WAY intense. He corners Annie in an elevator AFTER he observes that she's not super comfortable in social situation. I often read romance and think "aw. cute in a book, but not IRL." This was not that moment. I was uncomfy with it even in a fictional sense. He even uses his status as a client to get alone time with Annie. It's manipulative. But then he gets all high and mighty when he thinks her boss is pimping her out. Totally fine when it's him, but not fine when it's other men.
Overall, it was fine. There were some serious red flags at the beginning that I don't think were addressed later. And I have some thoughts about the commentary being made, but it was a quick read with some basic dom/sub and restraint play.

Ok I will admit it straight away, the title to this book made me very curious. Being a Scot, and in the UK, a hooker to me suggests a 'lady of the night'! In fact there is actually a mention of this same misunderstanding in the book itself. But it is, in fact, something totally different.
The book was a brilliant read. I started reading it just before heading to bed one night. By the time I had finished it was 12.20am! Not great when I was up at 5.45am for work, but great for the authors as it means they have written something brilliant!
The characters are believable, well written, and I totally fell in love with both of them. There are quite a few twists and turns throughout, and that made the book an even better read for me. The misunderstandings between the main characters make for very interesting situations, but it's all worth it in the end.
I loved the added bonus of the female character being a blogger, albeit totally different to the type of blogging I do, but a blogger all the same. That instantly made me connect with her as a character, but it wasn't the only reason for the connection. She is a genuinely shy person, and needs bringing out of herself.
Is Ronan the man to do just that? Can Annie allow someone in after all the hard work she has put into keeping everyone out? Take a chance and read this story to find out. I promise you won't be disappointed.

This was my least favorite of the Rugby series so far - but still very enjoyable. Unfortunately, I read them out of order based on what my library had available, so this fell last in line rather than first. Enjoyable, but felt Annie and Ronan both had their moments of being too pushy.
