shame. my expectations for the sinners of saint series were pretty high after "vicious", but i have to admit that my hype has fallen off with this second book. i don't know. dean and rosie really didn't cut it for me, which—as i was saying—is a shame.
this was a mistake on my part for sure, but i was kind of expecting l. j. shen to keep the f4 theme going—needless to say, they didn't. "ruckus" is very much its own story, and while i know complaining about something like this is stupid, i can't help that i felt very much disappointed in finding this out.
aside from not meeting my expectation, i don't know—the story in general didn't convince me. things got especially bad towards the ending, which i find was way too rushed. like—what do you mean rosie got better, just like that, when one (1) page before we see her on the brink of death—hospital monitors going silent and all? and the fact that her miraculous comeback wasn't even explained... eye.
not to mention all the twists and turns of dean's story with nina and his father and, oh my god!

Don’t be hesitant
So I wasn’t sure at first. I didn’t know or how to imagine the relationship between Rosie and ruckus and it just seemed like it wasn’t something that was possible. But the story is so good, and so page turning, and so in-depth. Great read!

I thought that I loved Vicious the most out of all the HotHoles but OMG Dean and his love for Rosie is so EPIC! Their story gave be goosebumps and the love is unequivocal. LJ Shen left me guessing the whole way through until my jaw hit the floor with all the revelations - I’d give this book way more than 5 stars if I could!

Oh did I cry for Dean and Rosie, it was such a heartbreaking story filled with love and sex and angst to last a lifetime. The ever loving bachelor Dean, the funny one, the one hiding his pain behind the drinking, weed and women was in love the whole time with sweet, sick Rosie. It may have taken eleven plus years but it was sweet to see their happily ever after.
