After 2 years I changed my rating from 2 to 1 star only because there are books that I have given 2 stars lately and they are better than this one

This was an incredible read. This is another fantastic addition to my L.J. Shen collection. After reading Vicious and Jamie's story in Vicious and Defy respectively, I was ready to see how Dean's story would turn out in Ruckus. It did not disappoint, it was amazing. There were moments of laughter and moments of sadness when I read this book, but I really enjoyed each moment of this book. Rosie LeBlanc was a fantastic character, and most favourite of this book. She was snarky, fierce, and brave. I would love to be her best friend. She has been through so much, and I really like how she handles situations. Dean was an unexpecting character for me. In the other books, I thought of him as the playboy. However, when I read his character in this book, I saw a different side to him. A side that is loyal, and vulnerable. He really does love Rosie, and I love how he was willing to do anything for him. I cannot wait to see how they are in Scandalous, where we get to see Trent fall in love. I love this series. Overall, an amazing read.

Okay, I don't understand why Dean was called Ruckus and literally only Rosie calls him such. Vicious is called Vicious by everyone, but Dean is just... Dean. I thought it was weird.
I was hesitant to start this one since Dean is Mellie's ex, but he claims to have loved Rosie since high school... but no, it was explained well enough for me and I was totally behind it. The other reason I put off reading it is because Rosie has an incurable condition and I didn't want her to not be taking care of herself -- BUT SHE DOES, just FYI. She does push herself at times, but she and Dean are conscious of her health... for the most part. The big thing at the end annoyed me because it felt out of left field with how she handles herself.
Dean has another messed up past and I didn't completely understand how it was all handled. In the end I thought "Rich people problems and solutions" shrugged and went with it. It just felt so over complicated though....
Dean and Rosie as a couple though are fantastic.

What makes you feel alive?
First dates. Holding hands. Forming jokes that are only ours. Memories that no one else but us has. Creating life with a man who doesn’t even know that I cannot create life, not really, and feeling the remorse churning inside me.
I hate this book for breaking my heart over and over, but love it because it was able to.
Somehow this book added a layer of depth to Dean Cole that I never thought could be possible. We saw a completely different side of him, one who likes saving those in need and was protecting them all along. I went into this book with low expectations because I disliked Dean in both previous books. Fate definitely proved me wrong and said there’s always more to learn about a person than what was initially revealed.
“Planet Earth?” I clucked my tongue. “Color me curious.” She whipped her head around, her chin resting on her shoulder. “You are chaotic, crazy, and full of wars and angst. But you’re the liveliest place I’ve ever been to.”
Rosie was a fantastic protagonist. Like Dean, I wasn’t particularly excited to read about her going into this book and I want to punch past me for ever thinking this book would be anything short of fantastic. Her illness only made her braver and stronger, and a character that I admired even more.
And together? They were amazing. A force to be reckoned with.
“What does Miss LeBlanc have that the rest of the human population doesn't?'
'My heart, Sue,' I said. 'She has my heart.”
Honestly, the way the plot progressed was perfect. The fluidity of the important events and how everything (including the flashbacks) was connected made everything fall into place when it was supposed to. I rarely like second (excluding novellas) books more than the first, but this book knocked me off my feet over and over.
