after reading vicious, i was super excited for this book, and having now finished it, i can definitely say that it did not disappoint. my favorite thing about this story is the heroine rosie. as a young woman who has chronic health issues, i seriously related to her struggle with wanting to be independent while simultaneously dealing with such a serious disease. she was resilient while also being realistic about her situation and i loved that. i was also impressed with the depth of dean’s character and the backstory lj shen weaved together for him. there were some things there that i definitely didn’t see coming.

the only reason why i didn’t give the book five stars is because i did feel like there were a few parts that dragged, but overall i still really really enjoyed it. the sinners of saint series is easily one of the best new adult romance series out there.

Dean and Rosie were meant to be together since high school. Although dating Rosie’s sister Emilia senior year, Rosie was in love with her and he with her. 10 years later they get their happily ever after, with some bumps in the road. Dean discovers family secrets and poor Rosie almost dies. There is so much character and plot development in this book, I ate it up! Such a good book, so far better than Defy & Vicious!

You know what, this may just be my favourite book in the Sinners of Saint series so far. I think for me it was more so about the development of the characters and me feeling more connected to them. Though, in this book I loved when Vicious was there and he’d throw crude or snarky comments. Vicious is just my favourite, always.

Honestly, going into this book, I expected it to be a like Rosie sick and in hospital like she was in the end and Dean being there for her and then falling in love together there. So it’s definitely a stretch from how I pictured it but it was still amazing m.

I felt more drawn to the issues that were being tackled in this book. I really love Dean’s story and I was fooled too because in the first book, I just thought he was a senseless clown. Both characters have such tragic pasts and the way their relationship was when they were teenagers makes me so sad.

For about the last 100 pages, the drama and intensity really picked up. So many things were happening and my heart was breaking for Dean & Rosie. Things got really emotional, raw and I loved it! Those last 100 pages turned this 4.0 star read to a 4.5 - 5.0 star read.

I just have to mention how adorable Dean was being a space geek. I loved learning all there new things about astronomy and Sirius. It just made me smile every time he gave a new fact about astronomy.

I was not expecting this story to have so much heart. I absolutely loved it. I was sucked in the entire time.
