Twisted Love

What makes you feel alive? Do you ever do something knowing it’s going to wreck your soul but do it anyway? That’s how I felt reading this book and I’d do it all over again. In this book we experience the heartbreaking love affair of Rose Leblanc and Dean Cole. The same Dean who dated Emilia, Rosie’s older sister. Talk about awkward family dinners. (Or so one might think) Their story truly did wreck my soul. Star-crossed lovers dealing with a negotiable tragic love ending yet it made it all the worthwhile. Dean undoubtly struck a cord with me because of how much of myself I saw in him. The airhead jokester who people didn’t take seriously. And Rosie, a woman not defined by her flaws living her life the best way she can before they find each other once again and become each other’s saving grace. I love their story and love their love. I truly think neither one of them was really living before each other. Love at first sight is the best way to describe them, if you want a book that is going to absolutely wreck your soul in the best way possible, this is the one!

I'll admit that I was nervous going into this story. I just wasn't sure how I would feel about Dean and Rosie being paired together. Luckily L.J. Shen did their story justice and I was so glad that we got to see behind the scenes and what had been simmering between them for so long. I did end up loving them for one another and I am glad that I gave them a chance.

Dean and Rosie were perfect for one another despite all the reasons that they felt should keep them apart. They had chemistry from the start, but it was so much more than that. These two had a connection that was rare and special and unlike any that they had with anyone else. My heart broke for them at times and all that they sacrificed. I understood their reasons, and yet I hated that things went the way they did at times. I wanted these two to figure things out and be together, and luckily eventually things happened as they should.

While I liked these two and their story though, this one didn't affect me like the previous books did, and that is the only reason that this one was 4 stars for me instead of 5. I actually had to just let this one just kind of soak in for me after reading, and it took me a bit to gather my thoughts. I enjoyed it, but it just wasn't quite what the other two were for me. Don't get me wrong, it was still a great story that I recommend. So far the other HotHoles have just been more intense and captivating for me. I can honestly say though that Trent's story is one I have been dying for, and I can't wait to see more of him and how things shake out after what has been brewing over the course of this series. This series is one that I have really enjoyed and if you like sexy alphas this is definitely a series that needs to be on your TBR.

It’s official. I am unequivocally addicted to the Sinners of Saint series. After reading the first book, [b:Vicious|30839185|Vicious (Sinners of Saint, #1)|L.J. Shen|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1481945407s/30839185.jpg|51437887], I suspected I’d found a new favorite series. Ruckus sealed the deal.

Dean “Ruckus” Cole is one of the Four HotHoles. Out of all the four self-proclaimed rich douchebags, he’s always been the nicer, fun loving manwhore who drinks too much booze and smokes too much weed—the later of which is something that seems to be a requirement in the F.H.H. club. It’s a treat to examine the real Dean in this book—his heart, his pain, his devotion. I loved what I saw, even his stubbornness.

Emelia’s chronically ill younger sister, Rosie, is the other focus of this book. She happens to be the decade-long focus of Dean’s fantasies. I admired her feistiness, independence, and sacrificial compassion she displays without an ounce of self-pity.

Their romance is years in the making creating with a teasingly slow burn. When they finally get on the same page, you can bet on some extremely combustible sexy times. Dean is one dirty man. More enticing, though, is the way Rosie and Dean support each other through some significantly life altering trials.

If you are turned off by dying or death stories, I urge you to give this book a chance. Yes, Rosie’s serious illness is integral to the plot. However, I think you may be pleasantly surprised by the lack of overwhelming sense of doom. There’s a touching and unpredictable quality to Ruckus that kept me engrossed throughout.

Woooooooo spicy

Ruckus is a dual POV and the third-ish book of the Sinners of Saint series. Technically it's the second book in the series but I will call Defy the first even though it's considered the novella.

Ruckus is from Rosie, who is Millie's younger sister, and Dean, who is Millie's high school ex-boyfriend. I loved everything about their relationship. Plus this book gave you more of a perspective on how the sisters, Millie and Rosie, plus Vicious and Dean were all connected. Dean was dating Millie in Vicious but Vicious and Millie were in love with each other while Dean and Rosie were in love each other.

In the end, everything worked out between the two couples. Everyone got their happily ever after. I got my happily ever after because I'm finally getting to finish this series.

Now Dean is one of the HotHoles and he's in love with Rosie. Rosie, however, is constantly sick and didn't want to date the guy who dated her sister. Even though she was in love with him.

This is a second chance at romance for both of them and I loved every minute of it. I was so happy that they finally got together because it was about god damn time.

ALSO, super happy that we still get to see every one of the HotHoles again. Millie and Vicious are probably my favorite couple, although Mel and Jamie are my second (so far) - Sorry Rosie and Dean.

Now I did like this book but it wasn't my favorite out of the series. I don't know I just think the other two were better. Although it does give you romance, mystery, sadness, and everything else all rolled into one. A great story and some hot sexy scenes.

I really liked the epilogue because the kids are so freaking adorable. The relationship/marriages are adorable. I kind of hope L.J. Shen writes a series based on the kids of these guys because that would make it amazing!

Overall, I devoured this book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
