BEST. SERIES. EVER.
Now I'm in tears because it's over but god damn, this series was AMAZING. It was witty, brilliantly written, and so funny. Parker (Katy), and Martin's story is full of so many frustrating moments of miscommunication, lots sexual tension, and beautiful firsts.

Martin and Katy needed to get their shit together.. For half the series, they just didn't communicate. I was like SFKDLJSFDKJDFS.

Katy is my favorite female MC next to Mel from "American Savages". She is so brilliant and outspoken. She's not experienced in love but she's not afraid to voice it, I love her. She is what I strive to be. She deserved the romantic, hot, popular guy to fall for her, and deserved to experience a special kind of love. This book really had me. It had me hooked and in love.

I don't think I can say it enough, I LOVED THIS SERIES.
I RECOMMEND IT. I SHIP IT ALLLLLLL.
"5 FIRST LOVE, FIRST EVERYTHING, HOT IN THE PANTS, CANT GET OVER HOW AMAZING THIS SERIES STARS"

I was pleased by the ending of this series. In all honesty this could have been made a standalone with a few changes and might have been better than having the three novels, but I understand the progression.

I did enjoy this. However I always find it difficult to root for young-love couples. There's a lot out there in the world and it's hard for me to be convinced that these relationships actually end in HEA instead of HFN. I seem to be consistently doubting the relationship, through no fault of the author.

BUT, Martin and Kaitlyn were great in this one. Martin grew up and so did Kaitlyn and seeing the progression was lovely.

And now the only thing for me to do is wait anxiously for more Penny Reid books/newsletters/anything she wants to release at all.

The heroine is so ridiculously obtuse. I just couldn't deal with it.

Kaitlyn & Martin's story spans over three books therefore my review here shall be based on all three books.

Book 1 - Elements of Chemistry: ATTRACTION

Kaitlyn Parker, national treasure and college student is smart, funny, loyal and stuck in her head. She is somewhat socially ackward and so focused she loses sight on things around her however this time is different.

Fridays at the chemistry lab she partakes in her extracurricular activities aka hiding in cabinets she hears a plot to do something vile to her chemistry lab partner. Martin Sandeke. They also met on Fridays and before Kaitlyn can warn him, they are in a comprimising position she is kissed silly and of all the silly things then has to go to a skirt party to warn Martin.

To that day Kaitlyn never really spoke to Martin only about tabulations and findings regarding their chemistry project. However Martin is an enigma and with all his kissing he convinces to spend spring break with him. A promise is a promise after all. A private jet takes them all to an island.

Reading this was exhausting because of Kaitlyn and her inner musings. They were at times bloody hilarious but at other times it was just is she for real? I was sure that this would be a three star read however she just managed to get me to bump it up to 4 stars.

Book 2 - Elements of Chemistry: HEAT

Martin & Kaitlyn are getting to know one another and Kaitlyn is actually giving Martin a chance. But Martin has his demons and the question is will he be able to overcome them? Kaitlyn finds her passion and things are going to be hard. But OMG the chemistry between these two is so hot. What happened in the laundry room? You shall need ice. I didn't know Ms. Reid had it in her.

It wasn't an ending I expected and it is a cliffhanger. Ms. Reid brings you to the point where you just have to pick up the next book to see how it shall end with these two.

What is better being a matyr/bowing out or being is so ruthless that only what you wants matters?

Book 3 - Elements of Chemistry: CAPTURE

Kaitlyn and Martin are still post breakup. Kaitlyn has found her passion in music and is leading the life that she wants. But her losing Martin is still weighing on her. That is until Martin turns up in her life again.

I liked Kaitlyn and I didn't. She reminds me of myself when I was nineteen and seriously it was at times uncomfortable. I really would have liked to have had Martin's POV. But what kept me reading was that I was rooting for these two. In Martin's universe is there room for two? Kaitlyn was so obtuse.

Penny Reid has created truly amazing and I really enjoyed this.
