This thrid book on the Elements of Chemistry series is the conclusion to the trilogy, don't read this first! Go read Attraction and Heat before this book!

Anyways, on with the thoughts... I fell into a depression during the first half of this book. I seriously FELT Kaitlyn's heartbreak. But don't worry, Penny puts you back together again by the end of the book. I was hoping for something from Martin's POV at the end. But their is not one. I want a follow up of how Kaitlyn & Martin are in the future. I love them. Such well developed imperfect people that you get to follow as they find themselves and find each other. I just love Penny's writing so much. So well written, developed, plotted... I don't know all the words. It's just good okay? Go read the whole trilogy!

Oh thank god I'm done.
I mean, don't get me wrong, reading this series was mostly fun but I almost lost my shit because of all the miscommunication.

This whole elements of chemistry series is in my opinion a great way for people to get into NA romances because it's easy, quick and not overwhelming. It has well writen sexy times and it's pretty drama free.
My thing though is that I just can't do stupid. I hate when the main source of drama and angst comes from the two main characters not talking to each other or simply just assuming things that were never implied.
And both happend in this third book which made me very frustrated with both Martin and Kaitlyn.

I liked Martin, I really liked him. He grew on me over time and especially in this last book he was more mature, calm and collected. He was actually a nice guy, he was really funny too but he was just not really doing great with trying to get back together with Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn on the other hand was the most annoying person. She was so blind to everything Martin was doing and she was always making assumptions about the things that were happening. She never saw things through and was acting like a coward. I understand that she was confused about her feelings and she didn't want to get hurt but everything would have been resolved in such a short time if they just had an uninterrupted conversation where they wouldn't dodge every question the other person asked.
I was so happy when she finally decided to just tell him she still loved him but I was quickly shot down by a stupid misunderstanding...again...

All panned out well in the end and I actually adored the last few chapters. Martin and Parker were a great couple, especially after some time apart. They grew up and became better more confident people. They were a great match, I enjoyed their chemistry and banter and I loved how cute they were.

Still, I was pissed off most of the time during reading and the miscommunications and misunderstandings were making me want to bang my head against the wall.

Maybe love, at its essence, is being a mirror for another person—for the good parts and the bad. Perhaps love is simply finding that one person who sees you clearly, cares for you deeply, challenges you and supports you, and subsequently helps you see and be your true self.

I know a lot of people went crazy with how the second part ended and no sneak-peak was given at all since I am one of them. Actually, when Penny Reid warned the readers about it, I purposely held off reading the second part until the third part was out. Fortunately, I was given an ARC.

It took me some time to finally get on writing a review because the book hangover I got from this book hit me so hard I couldn't read anything for days. Yeah, I accepted that I wouldn't be able to finish my reading challenge this month. *sniff, sniff* Even now, I still couldn't accept the fact that the time when we get to see what's happening in their lives is over. No. I want to see them get married. I want to see Martin propose. I want to see Kaitlyn get preggers and most of all, I want to see Martin as a dad. Thinking about it just makes me cry.

If you read the previous part, you'd know that our lovely couple broke up because of family circumstances. Kaitlyn tried to move on but it was hard. On the bright side, she finally pursued her passion. Months after their break up, Martin entered Kaitlyn's life again and they attempted to be friends again. But Kaitlyn couldn't find it in herself to be friends with him again. She'd always want more from him but it seemed like Martin was seeing another girl.

It wass times like this that I wished that Penny Reid wrote this with dual POVs. It was not like it wasn't enough for me to know what Kaitlyn's thoughts were. I just wanted to know what was on Martin's mind the whole time.

Penny Reid outdid herself this time. She managed to create a very tangible character with Kaitlyn. You could feel her emotions grip you. Her heartbreak, her attempt in moving on, her hopes of getting back together with Martin, her giddiness when all was finally well.

A part of me wants to say that it was a great way to end a very wonderful story but a bigger part of me is still reluctant to acknowledge that it has ended. It's not that Capture ended abruptly or anything, I really didn't want to say goodbye to K and M yet.

By the way, Capture is my book of the month this May.

Overall the story is a solid 4 star read. I really enjoyed it. While I found the miscommunication really annoying, it made sense for their characters to be that way. My heart kept aching this whole book because you could blatantly see him trying to woo her and it just going right over her head lol. Really great read, I was a little uncomfortable with the price but got the first one free so it didn’t feel as bad.

"He was still wrapped around my heart and I had no way to evict him. I wasn't sure I could."

I am an emotional reader. Hell, I think most of us are emotional readers. I have a tendency to get so invested in a story that when it hits me in my feels, I feel it. After I finished Capture, I listened to Stevie Wonder's Overjoyed and ugly-happy-cried for a good half hour. As much as I would like to play it off as just an unfortunate side-effect of PMS (sorry for the TMI) that excuse doesn't fly. Especially since I had the same reaction a good two weeks after I read Capture the first time. I have struggled with how to define what it is that hit me so hard with this last installment and I have a few theories. There is a slight spoiler coming up if you haven't read the end of Heat, so be aware.

"And I also realized this, a friendship with Martin, was either going to help me get over him and be my best idea of all time, or I was going to fall even harder and it was the worse mistake I would ever make."

Capture picks up where Heat left off. Kaitlyn and Martin are no longer together *insert devastation*. While I know that some readers have a problem with couples being separated during a story this is just one of the reasons why I loved it. It's not that I wanted Kaitlyn and Martin to be apart. No, my stomach was in constant knots, my heart felt like it was in a constant yo-yo state, basically it was painful as all get out. But there was beauty in that pain, and growth too. It's like that saying about the juice being worth the squeeze. I didn't doubt that Kaitlyn and Martin could fall in love so fast and so hard but there is something real about seeing how that love changed them.

"I don't want a beautiful week with you. I want a beautiful lifetime."

I am so sad this story is over. I love these characters. I loved feeling all the feels with them. It was so refreshing to see a New Adult series that actually had some real character development and showed young adults trying to figure out themselves and their place in the world and in love. It wasn't just a steamy read. I think that's why out of all three Capture was my favorite. It captured (pun intended) what it is to love. It's irrational and passionate and in the end it should make you want to be the best person you can be.

Okay well I was a little wary of starting this book but I did anyways because I wanted to know where the author was going to go...
Hmmmm well I loved how Kaitlyn grew into her own and became the person everyone knew she was. Martin became a tad bit better but not really. He said he changed but once they were in the same room he was still a cruel asshole. And Kaitlyn.... He ruined you!!! RUINED you and you jump at the chance of being close to him?? Why????? I hated how she accepted him in her life so quickly and yaa... I do feel like the breakup was his fault and not hers since she would grow to hate him if her mom ended up losing her job. This book did have its parts..

However this was a tad bit better than the second one. I kind of was rooting for Abram! He was such a great guy and I hope he gets a book.
