Losing Control by Jen Frederick

The plot is a bit messy and doesn't really have a definite flow although it's understandable as Jen Frederick originally wrote this for fun and sent it to her friends first. But the earnestness of the characters certainly made up for it.

I'm glad that Tiny, a woman who hasn't really been in healthy relationships before, questioned and doubted Ian for a while before giving into him fully. It made their relationship not just born out of lust but a slow burn of love and trust. Ian is the typical rich sex god and alpha male who has a sad past but his genuine care for Tiny is endearing. However, I still dislike Ian's alpha traits, making Tiny seem submissive and even hurting her, although unintentionally, once.

This was a fairly entertaining read *cough* in more ways than one. *cough & wink* If the flow of the book didn't go in a hundred, okay more like twenty, different ways; this would be closer to 4-4.5 stars.

If you're looking for a steamy (VERY steamy) read and you're not really bothered about a scattered plot, then Losing Control is definitely the right book for you.

Very, very late but thanks to Amazon Publishing, Montlake Romance and NetGalley for the eARC.

This is better than most contemporary novels, but isn't the best. It's not always a page turner. You don't learn to care for the characters as much as you'd like. I didn't really feel connected to any of them.

When i read reviews before i read and buy something i read the lowest ranking reviews first . There , people usually include the most annoying and bothersome thing they can find wrong with anything they read . I ignored it and bought this (obviously) and really really enjoyed it . I even lost sleep a few times because I just had to know what was coming next ! it is funny , sad , and who doesn't love sarcasm ! (i know I do)

Losing Control is an amazing novel about an unbreakable bond , want , and need between two people . (with a great cover too !!) The sample I read before buying this is a little misleading because I really thought this would be a lot darker than what it was . But I loved their story . Victoria's mother is diagnosed with cancer and desperate for money Victoria picks up extra shifts at her job . Poor girl and mother living in the slums of New York , Victoria meets Ian Kerr on a bike route she uses to deliver packages . Although he pursues her , she doesn't give him . Anyone with a brain knows he becomes our hero in the story . Immediately he is drawn to her like a moth to a flame . why ? we don't learn this until much later .

I especially loved the fact that the author researched learning disabilities . The struggles someone suffering from these issues could face on a daily basis . These things are real and it's what I felt is a great addition to the story . Aside from being beautiful and poor , Victoria is flawed in many other ways . Her determination to save and help her mother is extremely touching . Although Ian Kerr has many issues of his own . Ian is .. so great ! You will too . Despite being rich and undeniably handsome , there isn't one thing I didn't like about him . Upon learning of her situation he is more than willing to help Victoria and her mother . Their love story and bond to each other grew , it didn't feel quick and rushed . Their time spent with each other grew into sexual tension , which turned into their love . (and sex , yes there is sex and lot of it) . just imagine a Batman meets his Cinderella type of story and you get this . :) their love isn't cheesy or drawn out it is just right . His nickname for her from the moment he met her is too cute "Bunny!"

If you're looking for a hot , great weekend read buy this book you won't be disappointed !! There is no cliffhanger , we just know theres a part two because the first chapter is included at the end . Simply a continuation of their story which I'm starting on soon ! :) Onto book two !!

It was alright. Usually I really get engaged with Jen Fredrick's characters but I had a difficult time connecting on this one.

It is just the billionaire/poor chick trope. Nothing to see here.

This book will make you laugh and cry and squirm (in the best way). In this modern day Cinderella story you have a dyslexic bike messenger and the super-rich businessman. The chemistry is there from the moment they meet. He wants her but she is intimidated by his money and feels insecure because of her disability. I fell hard and fast for Ian and struggled along with Tiny as she watched her mother grow ever more ill. Jen Frederick is a “new to me” author but you can bet I will be checking out her backlist and am awaiting the next installment of the Kerr Chronicles with baited breath.

NOTE: I read this book via emails sent by the author had it been spent all at once I'd have devoured it in one sitting.

There aren't many books that make me cry, this one made me cry twice, first during Chapter One and then again in Chapter Thirty. I'm not gonna lie I'm sobbed quietly and uncontrollably for quite a while to the point where the words were blurry. It just brought back so many memories that I thought I was over, I mean it has been twenty plus years since I watched my grandmother die of cancer but reading this book made it seem like yesterday; hearing her cry out in pain, watching her lose her hair and weight, seeing the pack/bag she moved around with that drained the fluid from her lungs. I just want to reiterate that the book didn't contain these elements it just brought these memories to the surface.

In between the gut-wrenching and heart-rending cries I fell in love with both of the main characters. I think at one point my womb hopped out and ran off to be impregnated by Ian Kerr, why wouldn't it the guy is a swoon-worthy. I loved Tiny's strength no matter the obstacles in her way she found a way to survive and provide for her mom and herself. I really admired that and can't wait for more Kerr chronicles.
