Some great advice on getting your baby to sleep and some interesting perspectives on colic. I could have done with a little less around colic theories and gone straight to the advice on calming your child. The 5 S's really worked well for us and it was easy enough to share with the grandmas for them to use as well.

After reading the library's copy, I'm intending on buying this one. Still a few months away from having my baby, but I can see this being helpful in the near future! Might just earn itself 5 stars when I can test it out on a real baby :o)
informative medium-paced

Here’s hoping Dr. Karp’s science works…!

This was really helpful

Lots of repetition. Just know the S’s.

Yes the writing style is irritating but the knowledge is invaluable

Explanation and tips about the "fourth trimester" and how to sooth a crying (maybe colicky) baby.

Amazingly informative book especially for new parents. Will see if the techniques described in the book translate into practice (soon!). Only minor critique I have of the book is the slight over promotion of the “smart sleeper”. The one tied to the book is (at the time of writing this) over a thousand dollars.
informative

Mostly a waste of time. Lots of fluff, cringey references to other cultures newborn care techniques, questionable research, and too much repetition. Could be condensed to 10-15 pages and be a really nice guide.
