The Best of Us

Possibly the best in the series so far. Getting more backstory on Erica Slaughter was well done. I suddenly feel deeply empathetic for the job of the hunters and just how badass Erica being a black mask actually is.

This was a backstory, showing how Erica ended up with House Slaughter. I really enjoyed this. I kind of understand why they didn’t include it in Book 2, but at the same time, I think the glimpse into her start is important to show why she acts and makes the decisions she does.

Not as much gore, but we do get Erica's full backstory and a lot more detail on the inner workings of the Order. Best line: "Monsters are real and they hunt and eat children".
