Still, far and away the best horror comic on the stands. This volume features the origin of Erica Slaughter. This could have easily been a solid volume one of the series. I can't wait to see where this book goes next.

If you enjoy horror, wish [b:Deadly Class, Volume 1: Reagan Youth|21998105|Deadly Class, Volume 1 Reagan Youth|Rick Remender|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1583553696l/21998105._SY75_.jpg|41304900] had more focused writing, are a fan of children battling mythological beasts and their peers, then you should rush out and get all four of these volumes.

I really enjoyed reading the first three volumes of the series so it was nice to get a backstory on Erica Slaughter.

The story of young Erica and how she was inducted into monster hunting was a fun read. The characterisation of young Erica was fun. The art, particularly of Wide eyed young Erica who is naive, works great in combination with her characterisation.

I loved getting to see little Erica and I hate knowing that the people she loves don't make it. Ugh.

Erica's origin story! So good, loving how menacing the order is and it's nice to see some other morally grey characters.

So I read the other volumes and very much enjoyed them, so I feel as if volume four was the perfect touch as it gave us an insight into Erica’s background.

One thing, I love Jessica. I love the way she took in Erica and cared for her as if she was her own.

I hope volume five will have more Erica, Jessica and Aaron scenes because I loved them three together.

As for Buck, he’s like that fun uncle that everyone loves to have around.

Another thing, the artwork in this novel is beautiful and I love everything about it.

My favourite characters:
Jessica, Erica, Buck and Aaron
