I really liked this installment. Karin Slaughter has become one of my favorite authors. I'm just really nervous to read the next book because it is the last in the Series. I love the characters in this series. I absolutely love the chapters from Lena's point of view. The way a detective thinks. I just love the conclusions she comes to and why. This happens with Jeffrey as well. Most of Sara's chapters are just, meh. I like her but she is just not as interesting to me.
A story that looks at how religion can be taken to extremes and used as justification, Ms. Slaughter gives an insight into how religion, when taken literally can lead to negative actions.
Jeff and Sara face a hard challenge after they find the body of Abby and when Becca goes missing its a race against time. To make matters worse Sara faces a difficult situaton when she meets Lev and his father.
Another storyline that tackles a line of crime that has been portrayed to show how individuals perceptions can cloud their judgements and that gut instincts can be right.

keeps you wanting to know what happened and who the killer is. the turn of events is surprising and not predictable. it was good. my only objection was that it seemed like most of the main female characters were dealing with some type of problem relating to children. it would have been nice if one of the characters had a healthy child.
A few of my friends read this series before me and kind of spoiled the last two books for me - no hard feelings.
Now it just takes me twice as long to finish them as it originally would.
Karin still is one of the most brilliant writers out there!
I think I'll just take a bit of a break before I read the last book of the Grant County series, in the hope that I will forget the spoilers!
