Another very good installment in the Grant County series. Because of some stuff going on in my life, it took me forever to finish this, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it. I loved this for all the reasons I love Karin Slaughter - the nuanced characters and their relationships, the suspenseful and intriguing mystery, some hard-hitting stuff being dealt with. Here, the crime involved religion, which I usually really enjoy reading about. Anything remotely cult-like or corrupt/hypocritical religious zealots, I eat it up. Really enjoyed that element of the story. There is also a big part of the story that dealt with abortion and abusive relationships. I thought it was well done, but definitely difficult to read about and might be triggering for some people.
I can’t believe the next book will be the last in this series. I already know something heartbreaking is going to happen, and I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters…

Another good installment in the series. In this one I felt like I could put the pieces together quicker, but I still liked how it all came together. Ive had my ups and downs with the series as a whole but I'm very excited for the conclusion
