My obsession continues. I said I was going to take a little break from the series since finishing the last one...and I lasted all of 2 1/2 weeks and finished the book in less than a week. Something about this cast of characters, plus the well-paced mysteries of each book, just pulls me in.

Out of all the Grant County books so far, Faithless was my least favorite. The pacing felt slower, and parts of the investigation dragged, making it harder to stay engaged.
That being said, the ending was fantastic! Slaughter knows how to deliver an emotional gut punch, and the final stretch of the book really picked up. The character dynamics and intense final moments almost made up for the slower parts.
While this wasn’t my favorite in the series, I’m still excited to keep going and see where the story leads next.

Although this was one of the slower, more predictable works in the series, I appreciated the character development (especially with Lena) & the writing is just so damn good that I can not give less than 4 stars. Slaughter’s novels are always meticulously thought out down to every miniscule detail, which makes for such captivating reads! She truly is the best at her craft. Now on to the finale
