I'm still pretty torn about this series, but I have to say this was a cute second volume. While Matsunaga kind of bothers me with how short tempered he is (seriously, bro needs to chill the fuck out) he is a very kind and caring person as well as a good friend. I also love how quick he is to take action when helping others and how over the top he is. Miko's slowly growing on me, but spending the first, what, two-three chapters with her thinking about her feelings for Matsunaga? Yeah, that old got old really fast, I'm glad other situations came up to give readers a break from that.

The biggest issue I have with this volume is that one of my biggest pet peeves in romance manga, jealous behavior. Miko is going to a matchmaking party (I think that's what it's called?) and Matsunaga snaps out on her because he's clearly jealous. He ends up looking for her and even helps her when she loses something, but it's obvious that he was looking for her because he wasn't happy with her going to this party. First and foremost, HE IS NOT HER BOYFRIEND. If they were dating then yes, I could see the problem, but they aren't. If he's not in a relationship with her, then he needs to BACK THE FUCK UP and act like a responsible fucking adult. Granted, it wasn't as bad in this volume than other series (Say I Love You, anyone?) but it bothers me that it is 2020 and we're STILL seeing this bullshit trope.

Anyway, I am enjoying this series and will read the next volume, but I stand by my previous assessment that this is a nice, fluffly rom-com and that's about it. Nothing bad, just nothing special.

I really thought the age difference would bother me but I honestly don’t care because i love their relationship so much and hope it has a good ending.

I read Matsunaga-san when I want a pick me up, when I want to read about silly goings-on between teens/twenty-somethings and that's exactly what I got <3

This second volume continues directly on from the first where the cliffhanger confession left me wanting MORE dammit! We see Meeko and Matsunaga-san getting close on several occasions (eeeee) - I'm thinking of the hair cutting scene in particular *tugs collar*, and there is also an unexpected visit from Meeko's mom!

I know there are some concerns about the 10 year age gap between Meeko and Matsunaga-san but I really am rooting for them! Their 'relationship' isn't portrayed in a creepy, uncomfortable or distasteful way, and the way they interact with each other always makes me swoon so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Meeko's 'unrequited' love is returned!!

Ah, this series leaves me feeling all warm and happy and hopeful. All I have is love for these characters. Long may it continue! <3

Such a good second volume! I am growing more obsessed with this story and the characters. Meeko continues to be so adorable and relatable. Her interactions with everyone else who lives in the boarding house really make this manga shine. I can't help but be drawn to the relationship between Meeko and Matsunaga. It's really sweet and I can't wait to see what happens between them. I need volume 3!
