This is a fantastic sequel to "The War That Saved My Life). I loved the first book and I always worry that sequels won't be as good. Well, no worries with this book. The book continues where the first left off. There are many touching moments and moments that brought tears to my eyes (both happy and sad tears). The author does a great job of helping one imagine a bit what it may have been like growing up during that time. I will definitely be on the lookout for further books by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley...may have to read Jefferson's Sons (not part of this series though).

A lovely continuation and conclusion. Psychologically deft.

I absolutely loved this duology. I wish there were more books, but I felt like this book tied up the two books nicely.

This series is one of the best so far this year that I've read. I'm in love with its writing, story, tragedy and beauty that shone on me throughout the reading. No one would be so heartless to not love it..

It made me cry and it made me laugh. And we all know such books are hard to forget no matter how many stories come and go from your life.

This sequel is every bit as charming, poignant and well-written as the first book. Middle-grade historical fiction at its best. Highly recommended.

The sequel to "The War That Saved My Life" takes us deeper into World War 2 in England, with our protagonist Ada, who was rescued from an abusive mother and deals with the aftermath of trauma. Good history for middle grade readers, narration felt true to the character.

Not as good as the first one but still...

It's rare that I read a sequel that has an actual story to tell and stays true to the characters, but this one exceeds expectations. Beautiful story.
