My only complaint is I wish this story and characters lives could go on and on. I hated that it ended, though I didn’t hate the ending.
I want Brubaker Bradley to write about what Ada experiences as an adult. I can see this going on to become a successful book for us grown ups. Lately, I notice that all my five star books are children's books. I loved this story. I adored all of the characters. Now, I'm ready for more.

This book was a great companion/completion of The War that Saved my Life. I love how Ada grew but I also loved the themes of motherhood and growing up/becoming who you want to be. I also just enjoyed seeing Britain during WWII but from a child’s perspective.
4.5 stars rounded up. A great follow up to The War that Saved My Life. While I didn’t feel emotions as strongly as I did with the first book, I still was thoroughly engrossed in these characters’ lives. I highly recommend this series for not only middle grade readers but adults as well. These books are great entry points for the subject of WWII and the complex issues that accompany it. I learned a lot!
I absolutely loved these books. Ada is sweet and smart, and never gave up. I loved watching her grow and change through the books and I think they went perfectly, and ended very nicely. So glad I read them.
More Jamie and Ada and Susan and life in England during WWII.
The grinch in me wants to reject this book for being too heartwarming. Is that a thing? A must-read if you enjoyed the first book.

A lovely follow up to the first novel, seeing Ada grow and learn to trust Susan and the people around her. There were lots of sad parts, what with all the deaths happening in WWII.
