There were a lot of lovely messages in this book, but I think this book glorifies being alone to the point of ignoring the importance of community. We are social creatures that need people to live and I don't think that is fully acknowledged by the author. Self sufficiency can only get you so far - there isn't weakness in accepting that community is a crucial aspect of our lives. However, I do agree with a lot of what was said, such as the need to find true comfort in solitude and not distracting ourselves with mindless entertainment to cope with being alone.
