  • Let your brain digest content first, then feed it with new content.
  • Spend time with yourself daily. No phones, nothing. Just you with your mind.
  • There is no such thing as "forever" only person you have is YOU.
  • Be friends with you goals. Plan the life you want to live and take the route step by step.
  • Build a habit of focuing on your tasks. Something social media has taken away from us.
  • Dont blindly follow every advice you see on internet. THINK and ANALYZE before giving it space in your brain.
  • Keep your opinions to yourself, no need to tell them to everyone. But stay true to your beliefs.
  • Think about YOUR definitions of things, instead of whatever society has in mind. YOUR definition of happiness, success etc
  • Take ACTION steps towrds goals
Tasks: highlighted the yellow ones in app
Things I disagree with;
  • Long distance firendships do last, if both sides put effort
  • Being completely alone is a curse. Isolation can kill you. Cuz you need a NETWORK, if you want to be KNOWN in any industry, and if you are a loner, introvert... (like me, presumed audience of thus book) Well, then you might be lost.
  • The example of "if no one buys my book, or likes it, its OKAY. They don't define who I am" well yeah, but if it is your livelyhood you need peoole to buy from you. (As someone who isn't getting orders on my business, i can simply say that's okay, people done bave taste and move on. But i can not)
Besides, writing felt a bit childish. But its a book written by a girl in her twenties for the same age audience i presume, so i think that's OKAY?

Edit:
Nope, after finishing bell hooks' Communion, this one is most definitely a one-star. (More details on my review for Communion, but save your time and money and read hooks' book instead.)

This book was kind of hard to rate since there were some parts that were relatable, inspiring, and exactly what I needed to hear, and others where the author came across to me as overly judgmental and/or pretty much contradicted stuff she said a few chapters back without any attempt to elaborate and parse out any nuances. For example, a few chapters after writing about how we should think for ourselves rather than listen to what everyone around us (whether from real life, books, podcasts, or YouTube) is saying, she goes on about how we should constantly strive to learn from books, podcasts, and YouTube??? I somewhat get the sentiment of learning from a broad range of sources but taking the time to decide what makes sense to ourselves (or not) and recognizing none of what we come up with is entirely original, but it would've been so much simpler to just say that.

There were also an AWFUL amount of grammatical errors throughout the book, to the point of it being distracting.

This was a nice read and meditative read on how to be alone and the difference between loneliness and being alone.

Bear in mind some of the advice is a bit cliched and typical at times.

Towards the end though it becomes your typical self-help, set goals and make alone time “productive”. Some of the advice also about romanticising your life seemed derivative of Instagram and TikTok. I think also the fact that the author is young shows at times as her examples are reflective of someone in her 20s.

But the first half had some wisdom and there were some reflections that I found myself highlighting.

i started reading out of curiosity. enjoyed it particularly bc the things mentioned in the book are the very simple things that i value in my own personal life and enjoy doing very much. a good book to go back to whenever you need a reminder.
