I enjoy Bill Willingham's Fables series. A Jack spin-off? Yes, please!

Not as good as the original series but better than I thought it would be. I enjoyed seeing other random Fables. I'm not sure where Sam is from though, anyone?

I hate Jack so much as a character. Why is this obligatory reading in order to get to Fables 13? so pointless

I'm liking this Jack series more as compared to Fables.

(This has nothing to do with the book; Pathetic Fallacy reminds me of Mycroft.)

A much more light hearted take on Fables as Jack just causes chaos. This time it is a Prison escape. The return of a few familiar faces and some we are meeting for the first time.

Honestly, Jack is probably one of my least favourite characters in Fables. So this being a fun read definitely surprised me. I'm looking forward to the second volume.

I've always hated the notion that a protagonist has to be "likeable" by conventional means in order for a story to be engaging, so I like that the most agitating character imaginable is the head of his own spin-off. It's hysterical.

And so Jack's tale begins. I didn't dislike Jack in the Fables series but I didn't particularily like him either. I am surprised that he was picked for his own spinoff. Anyway, I did enjoy this book and am intrigued by Revise and the Page sisters.
