“If you want to change your life and maybe the world - start of by making your bed!”

A book written by a retired navy seal go In depth to the break down of 10 lessons that he learned in life and spoke out when he gave a commencement speech in Texas in 2014. If you haven’t seen the speech I highly recommend that you do!

I found these lessons impactful and know that this is a great start to changing your mindset and accomplishing small tasks that can lead to big changes.

An easy and short read, with several examples of the lessons that William McRaven knows could change the word.

The advice is great, short, and to the point. I will be incorporating some of these values into my day to day living. The author has a unique perspective of working as a Navy Seal and talks a lot about his training and life lessons. Overall, the book was really informative, but also, the information wasn’t really new or innovative. They are life lessons retold in the context of his time in the military. He is a good storyteller and a true American Hero!

Nice sentiments but more personal stories than detailed life advice. I applaud him and the others for their service though!

A pretty quick read/listen. Many books touch upon pretty "common sense" ideas, such as to surround yourself with good people that can help you (and vv), not back down from challenges, not judge people right off the bad, and that life is not fair. However, I wouldn't say the simplicity of these concepts overshadows their value.

The book's structure is similar to others I've read: make the point, tell a story to bring more nuance to that point, and then reinforce the point at the end. Though I enjoyed the stories, they didn't add much to the original point. They are taking the lessons quite literally, word for word, and there isn't a lot of depth to it.
