I typically like her books, but this one was just ok for me.

They both made mistakes and I understand them but I still hated the cheating trope in this book. Cheating is not ok.

I love and enjoy and cannot put down most Jojo Moyes books, finishing most in one day. This was not one of them. Like others, I had a really hard time getting into it, and this book was so unreasonably long and confusing for absolutely no reason. Jojo has 2 styles of books. The first is typically from the POV of 2 people who dont seem to have any way their lives could possibly intertwine but for some crazy cosmic twist of fate. The others are similar, 2 people's POV, but from different years, for example, a woman in 1920 vs. a woman in the present day, and they become intertwined in the present day. This book is the latter, and it was beyond confusing. With no real answers as to why certain people fell in/out of love, what happened to specific characters, and what made people the way they were. There were literal HOURS of character development and arch only to end in complete mystery. I still have no idea why two of the characters were in love unless I missed it in the first 6 slow hours of the audiobook before I was invested. This book was so random. It could have been so good and so satisfying in half the content. This book and last letter to your lover are skippable and about the same storyline, honestly. For reference, this audio book is 15 hours, and by the end, I was still genuinely confused about which characters were which and what happened to most of them and as usual most of the story happens in the last 30 minutes of this book.

I listened to this book and I really enjoyed the story. Unfortunately, the ending felt a little incomplete and unsatisfying to me so it dropped a bit in my rating. I just like the way Jojo Moyes writes, but I do believe she's written enough about lost opportunities!
