As always, Mick Herron knows how to craft a thriller like a drag-race movie: a couple of revs, the flag is thrown down, and off we go as fast as anything. Dialog is snappy, characters are easy to grok but a little deeper than the stereotype and you are glad to meet them from book to book, learn a little more or see the effects of what happened in the previous volume. Lots of wheels-within-wheels, as one would hope in a spy novel. The only regret I ever have is when I come to the end and know I have to wait awhile for the next one!

Reading these after watching the TV series and I think this is one where the TV series improved on the book. Follows the same basic plot but the tiger team’s background is more interesting / fleshed out in the TV series. An entertaining read though!
